Racial Slurs At NCAA Game Yesterday Reminiscent Of ASU Students' Taunting Of Steve Kerr

Like millions of other hard-working Americans, we took pause yesterday (just occasionally, boss!) to sneak some peaks at the first-round games of the men's NCAA basketball tourney.

This little guy ought to go to Southern Mississippi University

The annual March Madness first-round Thursdays and Fridays are among our favorite days of the year. Thirty-two flippin' games in 48 hours, and all of them on TV!

So, we were (again, briefly) watching the closely contested Kansas State-Southern Mississippi game in Pittsburgh, when a nice player named Angel Rodriguez went to the foul line.

Behind the basket, the Southern Mississippi band was hooting, hollering, gesticulating, which was all good.

Then, it got ugly. Really ugly.

Governor Fife Symington's Onetime Criminal Attorney, Blowhardian John Dowd, Loses Cool on Camera

We first came upon John Dowd when he represented Major League Baseball in the Pete Rose scandal. Dowd was the consummate Washington D.C. bigtimer who could bloviate with the best (or the worst) of `em.

(If you have trouble viewing this clip, try Firefox).

At least a few readers may remember Dowd as the defense attorney for Arizona Governor Fife Symington, who was indicted in the mid-1990s by a federal grand jury on charges of extortion, bank fraud, and making fraudulent financial statements.

A jury convicted the sitting governor of bank fraud, and Symington was forced by law to resign from his office in September 1997. But Symington never saw a day in jail because an appellate court overturned the conviction in 1999.

Joan Rivers' Go Daddy Body Double Looks Way Too Much Like Joan Rivers

Go Daddy's new "girl," 77-year-old Joan Rivers.
As we mentioned yesterday, like many, we were duped by Scottsdale-based domain provider Go Daddy into calling Joan Rivers hot. Today we learn that Rivers' body double for Sunday's Super Bowl ad (the actual woman to whom we referred as "hot") happens to look a lot like Rivers (although, much, much younger and far more attractive).

Leading up to Sunday's Super Bowl, when Go Daddy promised to reveal the identity of its "smoking hot" new "Go Daddy Girl," we were shown legs, a great ass, and a really happenin' rack, with the full identity of the "girl" to be revealed during the big game. The new "girl" turned out to be Rivers, but those legs, that ass, and the rack belong to a woman named Tabitha Taylor, who, as you can see in the photo below, and first pointed out by Pop 2 It, looks surgically created much like Rivers.

Andy Thomas and Ed Montini of Arizona Republic Odd Bedfellows?

Categories: News, Yikes!

We were fairly deluged this morning with e-mails from readers of Arizona Republic columnist E.J Montini about a blog post he did about ex-Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Peyton Thomas.

Officially Still A Lawyer At Presstime: Andrew Peyton Thomas
"Has E.J. Montini become an apologist for Thomas?" a retired judge wrote us. "I don't understand the purpose of giving [Thomas] a forum for his rants, making him to be the oppressed."

Here is what the veteran daily scribe wrote:

Hide your children.
Kumari Fulbright, the former "beauty queen" and law student, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit kidnapping after the bizarre kidnapping and torture of her ex-boyfriend two years ago, was sentenced to two years in prison and six months probation by a Pima County Superior Court judge this morning.

The charges stem from a 2007 incident, where prosecutors say Fulbright and two other men held her ex-boyfriend hostage for about 10 hours, while robbing and torturing him.
