Abortion fanatic and sometimes Congressman Trent Franks

Anti-abortion fanatic/Republican Congressman Trent Franks has yet another abortion proposal, but this one's quite a bit more restrictive than his many other proposals.

Franks, who is trying again to ban abortions past 20 weeks of pregnancy in Washington, D.C., now wants that proposed 20-week ban to extend nationwide.

Abortion-obsessed Congressman Trent Franks

There seems to be no end to Republican Congressman Trent Franks' fanaticism about abortion.

Again, Franks is proposing a bill that limits when women in Washington D.C. can get an abortion, a bill that he's proposed before, and a bill that's failed before -- just like every single other abortion bill he's proposed since he started, in 2003.

Attention Republican Congressman Trent Franks: we get it -- you don't like abortion.

As we've been chronicling here for a few years now, Franks' fanaticism about abortion almost rivals that of the people who stand outside Planned Parenthood locations with posters full of fetus photos, shouting "murderer" at anyone who may be going inside -- and Franks' trend of fanaticism continues.

Trent Franks Successfully Wastes Everyone's Time Again as His D.C. Abortion Bill Fails

This is what a "do-nothing Congress" looks like.

The House of Representatives slapped down another one of Congressman Trent Franks' anti-abortion bills yesterday, and Franks has now successfully wasted more than one hour and 38 minutes of Congress' time this year alone.

Franks' proposed ban on abortions past 20 weeks in Washington D.C.was short by 30 votes, as he kept the conversation on the bill going for more than 50 minutes before it was brought to a vote.

That doesn't even include the time it spent in the House Judiciary Committee, but Franks -- the Arizona Congressman -- took it upon himself to try to tell the District of Columbia how its abortions ought to be regulated. And he's fooling himself if he ever thought there was a chance in hell this would become a law.

Forget everything you learned about the Holocaust, kids, because Congressman Trent Franks is contemplating whether abortion is actually the "greatest genocide in world history."

There's a reason we have a category of stories called "Trent Franks (Sigh)" and it's for stuff like this -- or when he said black people were better off under slavery.

The congressman earned a victory this week as his bill to ban abortions after 20 weeks in Washington D.C. -- yes, the Arizona congressman proposed this idea -- passed out of its committee in the House.

Congressman Trent Franks is awful at making comparisons.

Republican Congressman Trent Franks apparently believes he's trying to stop something worse than the Holocaust.

Of course, it's Franks talking about his bread-and-butter issue of abortion, which he's currently considering as "the greatest genocide in world history."

Remember, according to Franks, abortion is the reason black people were better off under slavery than they are today.

Congressman Trent Franks -- the "self-appointed Mayor" of Washington D.C., as an area advocacy group calls him -- had his office protested last week, as his new-found "constituents" aren't quite happy with the job he's doing.

As you may recall, a group called "DC Vote" isn't quite pleased Franks -- the Arizona Congressman -- is taking it upon himself to try to tell the District of Columbia what its laws ought to be. (Of course, Franks' bill is for tighter abortion regulations.)

DC Vote decided to invite their new "mayor" to head up a constituent service day to address other problems in the District, but the group informed us Franks didn't play ball.

Washington D.C. Group Sets Up Constituent Service Day for "Mayor" Trent Franks

Arizona Representative, sometimes Washington D.C. representative, Trent Franks.

Arizona Congressman Trent Franks' work for his constituents currently includes pushing a bill for (of course) tighter abortion regulations.

Problem is, the Arizona Congressman's bill only applies to D.C., as Congress has supreme authority over the city's laws, and Franks has taken it upon himself to tell the District what its laws ought to be.

Well, if Franks wants to play "Mayor" of D.C., he should start acting like it, an advocacy group says.
