Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake have announced plans to introduce a bill in an attempt to deal with the influx of unaccompanied children from Central America arriving at the border.

Generally, the bill would make it easier to turn around the children and send them home, but the legislation also includes a provision to increase the number of refugee visas for citizens of El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.

Arizona Republicans Don't Hate John McCain That Much, According to Poll

Despite what the state Republican party says, not every Republican voter in Arizona is grabbing a torch and pitchfork to go after U.S. Senator John McCain.

Although the state GOP censured McCain last month, poll results released today suggest that Republicans don't hate McCain all that much.

The Maricopa County Republican Committee voted to censure Senator John McCain.

In other words, with a 1,150-351 vote, the county GOP passed a resolution that says it doesn't like McCain anymore.

John McCain's Approval Rating Is 26 Percent

Senator John McCain is doing a pretty good job, according to hardly anyone.

That's according to a poll from Behavior Research Center, which says McCain's 26 percent approval rating among Arizonans is the lowest level in 21 years.

John McCain Bucks the NRA, Supports Expanding Background Checks for Gun Sales

Republican Senator John McCain announced today his support for an amendment that calls for an expansion of the federal background-check system for gun sales, an amendment that's specifically being targeted for defeat by the National Rifle Association.

According to all the newspapers in Washington, the so-called "Manchin-Toomey amendment" is likely headed for defeat today, but McCain's one of a reported four Senate Republicans who support it.
