According to a meeting agenda for Scottsdale's police board for the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System, Peters has submitted an "accidental disability retirement application," which is scheduled to be discussed by the board on Thursday.
Peters' most recent shooting was on February 14, when he shot and killed 50-year-old John Loxas, who happened to be holding a baby at the time.
Police responded to Peters' place after neighbors reported that he'd pointed a gun at them, but after Loxas was shot on his doorstep, police found two guns near him, inside the home.
