President Obama

There's a saying the local Democrats have: You can't spell "crazy" without "R-AZ."

Why? Because of people like Republican Representative Brenda Barton of Payson, who explained on Facebook Monday that F├╝hrer der Nation Barack Obama and those gang-bangers known as park rangers are just ruining this nation.

Robert Huffstutter via Flickr

In Arizona, Republican citizens are more than just Obama-hating, gun-toting, free Americans.

Jim Kolbe
A Republican testified before a Senate committee Monday to call the "Gang of Eight" immigration bill an "excellent starting point," but said he feels that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender families were left out of the proposed legislation.

No, this isn't the The Onion.

Arizona's Republican Congressmen Take the Jan Brewer Route on Immigration Proposals

The anti-immigration-reform crowd's broken record is currently playing in the offices of Republican Congressmen Matt Salmon, Trent Franks, Paul Gosar, and David Schweikert.

The congressmen, like Governor Jan Brewer, insist that they can only even fathom immigration reform proposals if the border is secure. Still, no one's able to provide a definition of "secure border."

"Finally, our state legislators are making sure Arizona's teenagers will ask for the Lord's help defending the Constitution before they're allowed to earn a high school diploma." --Nobody

Maricopa County Bill Montgomery, stuck with the worst speaking spot of the year.

At the Arizona Republican Party's election-viewing party at the Hyatt Regency in Phoenix last night, the moment came that precisely none of the scheduled speakers was prepared for -- on a large screen to the right of the stage, Fox News declared that President Obama had won re-election.

Paradise Republican Women's Club Fibs About Andrew Thomas, Says Feds "Exonerated" Him; Disgraced Ex-Prosecutor to Speak at Club

Categories: Republicans

Andrew Thomas, the featured speaker this Saturday at the Paradise Republican Women's Club, wasn't really "exonerated" by the feds, as the club states.

Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas may be a political loser, but he's still popular with the women -- of the Paradise Republican Women's Club, anyway.

The venerable Valley club has scheduled Thomas, a failed politician whose abuse of power led this year to disbarment and disgrace, to appear as guest speaker at its annual meeting this coming Saturday.

And get this: The club, in a bio of Thomas linked in its home page, says that a federal grand jury and prosecutors "exonerated" Thomas of wrongdoing.

That, of course, is a total crock.

Jan Brewer Gets a "D" in Economics From the Libertarian Cato Institute

Categories: Republicans
The libertarian Cato Institute has not been taking it easy on Arizona -- it has consistently said the state's immigration laws are no good for the economy, and now it's giving Governor Jan Brewer a "D" in fiscal policy.

The idea behind the grade is simple: "governors who have cut taxes and spending the most receive the highest grades, while those who have increased taxes and spending the most receive the lowest grades."
