The criminal-justice expert has agreed to settle the student's lawsuit at the end of this month. He and his wife are no longer married.

And he was fired from Arizona State University -- on Valentine's Day.

A federal lawsuit resulting from the soured affair of an Arizona State University professor and one of his former students is not time-barred and may continue, a judge has ruled.

Tasha Kunzi, a former graduate student at ASU's School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, alleges that Professor Travis Pratt harassed her after she broke off their love affair and that she was forced to quit her doctoral program in July 2010 when Pratt and Scott Decker, the school's director, retaliated against her.

In court paperwork filed over the past year, Pratt and ASU didn't deny the allegations. Instead, they focused on getting the case tossed on technicalities -- but that didn't work.

Tasha Kunzi, a former doctoral at ASU's criminal-justice school, claims in a federal lawsuit that after she broke off an affair with her professor, she was harassed by him and the school's director.

A former doctoral student says in a federal lawsuit that she was harassed and forced to leave an Arizona State University criminal-justice program after a soured love affair with a married professor.

Tasha Kunzi filed the suit yesterday against the Arizona Board of Regents, Professor Travis Pratt and the director of ASU's School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, Scott Decker.

We left phone messages for all three, plus Kunzi's lawyer, Stephen Montoya, but haven't heard back from anyone yet.

The eight-page court filing describes how an extramarital relationship between a student and her mentor turned into harassment that was allegedly ignored by an ASU program head.

Shepard was sentenced yesterday to 100 months in prison, as the 19th anniversary of his one and only date with his victim comes in September.

According to federal court documents, Shepard followed the woman back-and-forth across the country since getting rejected for a second date in New York in the early '90s.
