Joe Arpaio Fans Look a Little Desperate With Billboards Urging People Not to Sign Recall

We assume "it" does not refer to being sheriff of Maricopa County.

Not that Sheriff Joe Arpaio and friends haven't looked desperate to avoid a recall election throughout this entire process, but these Phoenix billboards definitely have the distinct scent of desperation.

It was just a couple of weeks ago that Feathered Bastard wrote about Arpaio apologist John Philip Sousa IV and his hysterical plea for money to save Joe's job. These billboards appear to be the fruit of his labor.

Joe Arpaio Recall Wants Larry Klayman's Bogus Lawsuit Dismissed Sooner, Rather Than Later

Special pink underwear recently delivered by Respect Arizona to the office of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio's friends, birther attorney Larry Klayman and ex-lawmaker David Burnell Smith, are doing Arpaio a solid favor in their bogus lawsuit against Respect Arizona, the group trying to recall the elderly sheriff.

Respect Arizona's legal counsel already told New Times last week that the motion to dismiss the case has been filed, but attorney Chris Ford now has filed a motion for an expedited hearing, claiming Klayman, Smith, and their Tea Party associates are using the lawsuit as a "political assault" against the recall effort.

Stop us if you've heard this before, but an attorney is alleging that notorious birther and Sheriff Joe Arpaio-fan Larry Klayman has filed a lawsuit without any legal merit.

In fact, Chris Ford -- legal counsel for Respect Arizona -- told New Times yesterday that he's also seeking sanctions against the pro-Joe group that filed the lawsuit, run by a pair of tea-party figures from Surprise, and its attorneys, Klayman and former birther lawmaker David Burnell Smith.

Breitbart.com, founded by the late Andrew Breitbart, made an unsurprising move this morning by publishing an article about the recall effort against Sheriff Joe Arpaio, effectively soliciting donations for the pro-Joe forces.

What is surprising, however, is writer Warner Todd Huston's revisionist explanation of Arpaio's sex-crimes debacle. Actually, it's more gross than it is surprising.

"Birther" attorney Larry Klayman, who is fighting the recall of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, wants to know if the chairman of the Arpaio recall organization is a "homo" who "want[s] my nuts."

Klayman probably didn't mean to let everyone know he asked that, but it appears that Klayman isn't very good at using e-mail, which he inadvertently sent to people working for Respect Arizona.

In what appears to be another recall attempt motivated by the effort to recall Sheriff Joe Arpaio, some Arpaio supporters say they're going to try to recall House Minority Leader Chad Campbell.

As with the announcement by another set of Arpaio supporters, who claim to be attempting a recall of County Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox, we have a hard time believing that any more than five minutes of thought was put into this decision.

Larry Klayman, who "inapropriately touched" children, is trying to help Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

What are the chances that a lawyer who was found by a court to have "inappropriately touched" children would try to stop the recall of a county sheriff whose agency failed to properly investigate more than 400 sex crimes?

This is quite the, um, coincidence, as we stumbled across a judgment from an Ohio appellate court, in a divorce case involving attorney Larry Klayman.
