Ivan Jackson, a trained medicine man and artist whose works include a mural at the Tuba City Regional Health Care facility, was sentenced this week to one year in prison for performing oral sex on a patient.
Hopi medicine man Ivan Jackson was sentenced on Tuesday to one year in prison for performing oral sex on a patient who believed she was receiving treatment.

The victim, who wasn't named in federal court records, had sought help from Jackson in the summer of 2012 because she was "seeing people around her house."

He told her the problem was caused by something in her groin and that he knew how to fix it.

Destiny "Bean" Kimble, 11, was killed and her 25-year-old brother put in a coma after the mentally unstable Barry Jordan crashed into their car in 2011.
Barry Jordan, who killed an 11-year-old girl in a 2011 red-light crash in Phoenix, has been sentenced to 23 1/2 years in the state hospital.

Jordan also received a sentence on Monday of lifetime probation this week for a 2009 case in which he offered to pay a woman to have sex with her 6-year-old girl.

A Phoenix man arrested on Tuesday for raping his wife admitted to the act in a confrontation call, police say.

Francisco Ortiz Martinez, 53, grabbed his wife about 3 p.m. on August 25 and dragged her into the master bedroom of their Phoenix home, records state.

Michael Cummins Threatened Ron Barber With "Bashing" in Message From Arkansas, Feds Say

An ominous phone threat to the office of Democratic Congressman Ron Barber has resulted in the indictment of a man from Arkansas.

(Click here for update -- Cummins apparently lives in Sierra Vista)

Michael Wayne Cummins called Barber's office in Sierra Vista on August 20th, court records state, spelling his name for a staff member and providing his phone number.

Cummins informed the staff member that he'd like to assault Barber, a survivor of the 2011 Tucson shooting massacre that wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

A 73-year-old Ahwatukee resident might know just about every female jogger in the neighborhood -- because police say he groped a dozen of them.

The females -- 11 of whom are under age of 18 -- were running on Chandler Boulevard, down the street from Desert Vista High School, where they all ended up running past Bruce Miller, according to court documents obtained by New Times.

Police say the husband of a theater director in Phoenix "concocted an elaborate scheme" to tie up two teen student-actresses at the theater for his own sexual gratification.

David Harris, a 32-year-old truck driver, admitted to tricking the girls, ages 15 and 18, into being tied up at Xpressions Dance Theatre Music in North Phoenix, citing an "addiction to bondage acts and pornography," according to court documents obtained by New Times.

Phoenix police discovered the apparent reason that 29-year-old Jeremy West hopped on a school bus with a gun and took a ride to an elementary school last week.

According to court documents obtained by New Times, West told police he got on the bus -- which transports special-education students -- because he "was hearing voices" and thought people were trying to kill him.

A Phoenix man took a plea agreement today in a federal stalking case, in which he attempted to "reclaim" his ex-wife in time for their 20th anniversary.

According to 49-year-old David Richards' admission, he only started stalking the woman 15 years after their marriage ended.
