A U.S. District Court judge has scheduled a hearing on April 9 in an ongoing legal battle to block the Tohono O'odham Nation from building a casino in the West Valley.

Despite several back-to-back legal victories for the Nation, its opponents are not backing down.

"Throughout this process, the Nation has played by the rules and provided the clear facts, resulting in nine straight favorable decisions from courts and federal agencies," Chairman Ned Norris said. "Both the truth and the law are on the Nation's side, as has been demonstrated again and again in the courts."

Franks' office did not return calls for comment.

Tom Horne argued a case personally before the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals this summer. Tomorrow, he'll appear before the Arizona Supreme Court on another case.

As an elected official, Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne could make himself as relatively unseen as, well, Governor Jan Brewer.

But Horne likes to get his hands dirty every now and then in the legal field, arguing the law in person before judges. Did Terry Goddard ever do that?

Tomorrow at 2 p.m., you can watch Horne live or on the computer as he defends a state law prohibiting partisan elections in Tucson city government. He'll be at the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, where the Arizona Supreme Court will convene temporarily for two cases.
