Albert Tejada -- and his face tattoos.
Despite having a samurai sword in his possession at the time, convicted felon Albert Tejada, 31, lost a fight with a dog Monday morning.

In all fairness to Tejada, it was a police K-9 dog, and he was running from authorities at the time, but the guy still brought a friggin' samurai sword to a dog fight and lost.

According to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, Tejada was driving near 1st Street and Jimmie Kerr Boulevard in Casa Grande about 10:30 Monday morning when he was stopped by a sheriff's deputy for a routine traffic stop.

At first, Tejada seemed cooperative -- he pulled over to the side of the road and appeared to be willing to speak with the deputy.

However, when the deputy approached the car on foot, Tejada took off.

San Tan Woman Arrested in Connection to Husband's Oklahoma Murder

Simonin.jpg
Pinal County Sheriff's Department
Raelynne Simonin
San Tan resident Raelynne Simonin called Pinal County sheriff's deputies last week claiming to be a witness to her husband's murder.

Turns out, police think she had something to do with it.

Simonin was arrested this morning for accessory to murder after the fact by Pinal County sheriff's deputies and is awaiting extradition back to Oklahoma.

On July 27, 23-year-old Simonin called police from an Arizona hospital claiming to be a witness to her husband's murder and a victim of sexual assault.

But her story "didn't add up," PCSO spokesman Elias Johnson tells New Times.

"According to what she told our deputies, it looked suspicious," Johnson says. "She knew more than she led on."

After hearing Simonin's story, deputies called the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department in Oklahoma to assist with the case -- Simonin and her husband Jack Purselley, 39, recently fled from Arizona to Oklahoma to escape paying child support to one of Purselley's kids.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office
Joe Robbins says he couldn't stop himself from touching an underage girl.
Registered sex offender Joe Robbins just couldn't fight "the urge" -- to feel up his 12-year-old neighbor at a Peoria trailer park.

After admitting to fondling the girl in front of her 14-year-old sister, Robbins told police he had gulped a few drinks before the incident. He said he felt the urge to touch the girl, but didn't mean to actually reach out and put his hands on her.

Oops.

According to court documents obtained by New Times, on Saturday, the victim and her sister went to Robbins' neighboring trailer to ask him about a truck he was selling to their older sister.

Once inside, Robbins asked them to kiss and have sex with each other -- a request the girls refused.

Faux-Armed Robbery of Payday Loan Store Foiled When Clerk Spills Her Guts

paydayrobbery.jpg
Lincoln Knight (left), Jeremy Parker (center), and Simone Parker (right) faked an armed robbery that would have netted about $37,000 -- if Knight had stuck to the plan.
If you're the clerk at a store you're trying to rip off, the first rule of staging an armed robbery is don't tell police it's fake. Second rule of staging an armed robbery: DON'T TELL POLICE IT'S FAKE!

Lincoln Knight, a clerk at a PLS Pay Day Loan Store near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road, apparently didn't get the memo.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, Knight conspired with her boyfriend, Jeremy Parker and his mother Simone Parker, to stage an armed robbery at the store where Knight works.

The payoff: $37,000.

Leslie Janous, Tennessee "Party Mom" Embezzler, Busted in Apache Junction

janous leslie 1.jpg
Leslie Janous, a.k.a., Leslie Gibbs, of Tennessee, held a lavish Sweet 15 birthday party for daughter in 2006 that attracted MTV. Turns out she embezzled the money for it.
The party's over for a Tennessee crook who spent some of her embezzled millions on a spectacular Sweet 15 party for her daughter.

Leslie Janous, who also goes by Leslie Gibbs, pleaded guilty in February to stealing at least $4.5 million from her employer, Scancarbon, Inc., a precious metals firm in Knoxville. She was ordered to stay at home until her July sentencing, but she ditched her ankle bracelet in April and vanished. On Friday, federal agents arrested Janous at a home in Apache Junction.

Janous is a woman that Tennessee newspaper readers have loved to hate -- well before she was indicted. A 2006 article about her daughter's lavish party reportedly drew nasty comments from around the region. MTV considered using the party for its series on over-the-top shindigs, My Super Sweet Sixteen.

Janous gave her daughter, Brittany, a $50,000 convertible BMW at the party, among other gifts.

Cop in Georgia Finds Scottsdale Man's Kiddy-Porn Collection Via the Internet; Technology's Awesome

There's no arguing that the Internet has made the world a much smaller place. For example, rather than relying on snail mail, you can now electronically send a letter to someone on the other side of the planet in the blink of an eye.

In another example, you could be a cop in Georgia and view the kiddy-porn a guy in Scottsdale has on his computer from about 2,000 miles away.

Unfortunately for cyber-pervs, those are the breaks.

This is a concept 60-year-old Mark Spiegelman, of Scottsdale, allegedly learned the hard way.

You should see the other guys -- they all have police badges.
A Scottsdale man was pulled over by police for speeding on Sunday night and decided he wasn't going down without a fight -- and a fight he got, with several members of the Scottsdale Police Department.

From the looks of his mug shot, he didn't fare as well as he probably would have liked, either.

Tempe Murder Suspect Caught Sitting at Bar Less Than a Mile From Murder Scene

bradford.jpg
Tempe Police Department
Wade Eugene Bradford
Police in Tempe busted a guy last night who they believe murdered his girlfriend on Saturday, and they caught him sitting at a bar just blocks away from the home where the murder took place.

Wade Eugene Bradford is a regular at the bar at the Oregano's restaurant in Tempe, so when one of the restaurant's employees saw his mug on the news in connection with a homicide on Sunday, he was quick to call police when Bradford stopped in for a beer -- or three -- last night.

An Oregano's employee who was there when the bust went down tells New Times that Bradford sat at the bar and downed three Bud Lights and ate some cheese bread before cops came bursting through the kitchen and into the bar to take him into custody.

The employee says Bradford talked about having a "rough, 13-hour drive from Northern California" before bellying up to the Tempe bar, where he ultimately got pinched.

Prescott Valley Police Department
Ethan Cook, 20, allegedly molested a 14-year-old Prescott Valley girl.
A Prescott Valley man got pinched Sunday for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl several times dating back to at least March.

The suspect, 20-year-old Ethan Cook, may have gotten away with it, too, had he not sent his alleged victim several "sext" messages of which her parents eventually became aware.

According to the Prescott Valley Police Department, on Saturday afternoon, the victims father called police to report that he had found several, sexually explicit text messages on his daughter's cell phone.

The father, police say, was made aware of the text messages when another family member had read them.
