Ruben Gallego Raises More Than $400,000 for Congressional Race in District 7

Congressional hopeful Ruben Gallego, a former state lawmaker, is boasting a campaign war chest of nearly $435,000 from almost 1,500 political supporters -- more than $272,000 of that money has been collected April through June.

Gallego's camp, in a press statement, say he has more than $300,000 cash on hand going into the final two months of the campaign.

Federal campaign filings show that during the first three months of the year, Gallego raised $161,935, donating about $4,000 of that to his own campaign. He apparently then used his own donations to pay for and travel to a conference.

We've asked for second quarter fundraising amounts from campaign managers for Mary Rose Wilcox, who is also running for a seat in Arizona's Seventh Congressional District.

We were told only that Wilcox had a "successful" quarter and that actual figures would be released later today.

There are several other candidates who are also vying for the seat being vacated by outgoing Congressman Ed Pastor, who does not plan to seek reelection. Those are Democratic candidates Randy Camacho and Jarrett Maupin, along with Independent candidate Jose Penalosa.

"We have built a grassroots army that will not only help our campaign, but will boost turnout for Democrats statewide. We can win this election and help flip the state for Democrats -- but first we needed the resources to do it," Gallego said in his announcement. "This [finance] report shows we can do that -- and I'm incredibly thankful to everyone who has contributed to this campaign."

Let me guess who wrote this biased reporting for Gallego...Monica Alonzo.

She needs to wipe her ass clean from Gallego's campaign and start reporting fair and balance.  She's writing whatever shit his camp hands her.  I wouldn' doubt that she attends their campaign meetings to get her instructions.

Monica Alonzo, come clean with New Time readers and admit that you are related to Ruben Alonzo, the campaign manager for Gayego.

Why does he want those who probably shouldn't own a gun to be allowed to possess them?

Yes it is true Natacha.  He voted an NRA back legislation that would allow even the severely mentally ill to be able to an appeals process, meaning they could own and carry guns and rifles, semi-automatics with large magazines.

Issues like this gave Gallado a B+ rating from the NRA.  The National Rifle Association has a leash on candidates that they give money to.  And the NRA is a bunch of ultra conservative Republicans, Tea Baggers, and White Separatists...and yeah some Dixiecrats also.

They have on interest for you or our neighborhoods.  Whose side do you think he will take when NRA legislation is brought to a vote in Congress?
