Maricopa County Mugshots of the Week: The Goon Squad

mugs.jpg

At the end of the week, we bring you a roundup of visitors to the desert's own Fourth Avenue Jail. To be considered for our Maricopa County mugshots of the week, get arrested, strike a pose, and we'll take care of the rest.

This week, we introduce the goon squad. Enjoy.

How can you have Lemmons on one page condemning injustice and this swill on another page, every week, perpetuating injustice?

What is it with the effing face tattoos.  I have zero training in crime detection and yet I know that a face tattoo is a pretty effective way to have a witness remember and identify a perp.  Phoenix area criminals must be as dumb as their sheriff.

John Phoenix lol how ignorant to basic judicial processes are you? When they are arrested a mugshot is taken, just because someone is arrested in no way means they are guilty of anything that is why we have a court system and a judge and jury.

This is great, as always. I think the guy with the D-backs face tat was in a previous mugshot of the week!

It continues to sadden me that Phoenix New Times persists on ridiculing people every Friday just like Sheriff Arpaio, whom they appear to despise...but for good reason. It shows a measure of mean spiritedness to continue this post week after week. I wonder what Mr. Henley will think of himself years from now when he looks back on his journalism career and realizes he contributed to the debasement of society rather than being an agent of positive change. And to think his employer believes this garbage warrants a salary.

You've got some really nice people living in Maricopa County. I'll probably have nightmares, especially that one with the face tats.

I can't read that one guy's upper lip. What does it say? Inquiring minds want to know.

these folks get public ridicule and their pictures posted but if you're rich and get a ticket for breaking leash laws at the park the owner of the paper will write you a cover story in defense.

great reporting this week, Matthew Hendley... I thought Bob Woodward had taken over your column for a second.

Numero ocho would be well advised to grow and beard and 'stache. And a soul patch!

@carol.lokare

Wow carol, aren't you a whiny little bitch.  If you really want to see "debasement of society" take another look at the mooks in the mugshots.

So, kyle, the trick is to be rich?

@eric.nelson745 After looking at these for as long as we have, I have a question.  Are neck and face tats a prerequisite for going to jail, or is that something that happens after the fact and we don't see them until the inevitable second arrest?

@NWEng @eric.nelson745 No. These freaks actually move among us when they're not locked up. A lot of them frequent the area near McDonalds at 7th Ave and Van Buren. Don't ever be caught alone around there after dark.
