Jan Brewer Endorses Tom Horne's Primary Opponent, Mark Brnovich
Every day seems to be a bad news day lately for Attorney General Tom Horne.
Yesterday, it was that Horne's going to be investigated for allegations that he had employees doing his campaign work on state time. Today, it's Governor Jan Brewer endorsing Horne's opponent in the Republican primary, Mark Brnovich.

(FYI, Lemons is on vacation.)
Brewer was the one who appointed Brnovich to the state's gaming department in 2009, but that really doesn't make her endorsement of him any less surprising -- it's not a common move for a governor to endorse a primary challenger of an office-holder of their own party. For example, she stayed behind Senator John McCain when he was facing a primary challenge from the right by J.D. Hayworth.
It's not difficult to understand why Brewer would back Brnovich over Horne, given Horne's scandal after scandal . . . after scandal, after scandal. But it's still surprising to see her wade into the battle.
I'm honored 2 have the support of @GovBrewer. No matter the difficulty or tough choices she has always done what she believes is right 4 AZ— Mark Brnovich (@Mark4AZ) July 10, 2014
