Maricopa County Mugshots of the Week: Summertime Blues

mugs.jpg

At the end of the week, we bring you a roundup of visitors to the desert's own Fourth Avenue Jail. To be considered for our Maricopa County mugshots of the week, get arrested, strike a pose, and we'll take care of the rest.

Summer doesn't even start until tomorrow, but this week, it looks like the inmates have a case of the summertime blues. Enjoy.

I happen to agree with Kyle and Jason. I posted similar comments last week about this weekly feature. The New Times is no better than Sheriff Arpaio with this weekly feature. Assigning guilt to people who have not even gone to trial yet is anathema to the basic mission of the New Times...accurate, fair, unbiased reporting; not the yellow journalism pile of crap this weekly feature is. I would hope the New Times could find more important news for this "journalist" to focus on. Shame on the New Times for such low-blow reporting.

The newspapers here in Iowa do this same thing so it's not just the New Times

That is an excellent point. I've always thought mugshot roundups were in poor taste seeing as how the people pictured are accused but not yet convicted when the pictures become available to the public record. I stopped reading a long time ago because it became insufferable. These little media idiots are just like the other big media idiots, pandering to more idiots and trying to "go viral" so the idiots will show other idiots and another idiot gets to make a buck advertising phone sex in the back of a publication no one reads.

its total hypocrisy for New Times to run all these anti-Arpaio and MCSO articles and then publicly ridicule their victims. They're collecting ad money by outing law enforcement for corruption and racial profiling and then collecting more ad money for humiliating these folks who have not yet been convicted of anything. The fact is-- Arpaio has been a cash cow for the New TImes and it's cost them all journalistic integrity.

Why do you hate this guy so much Kyle Hague? I click on this every time it comes up on my newsfeed just to see what you have to say, and it's hilariously snarky every time. I gotta know what the deal is.

There seems to be a strong correlation between people with tattoos and being arrested.

Therefore, one could draw the following hypotheses:

If you are stupid enough to get tattoos all over your body and stupid enough to commit crime, you are stupid enough to get caught.
