Andrew Thomas Comes Up Short for Clean Elections Money, Needs 113 More $5 Bills

Andrew Thomas, the disgraced, ex-Maricopa County Attorney running for Arizona governor, has come up 113 five-dollar contributions short for Clean Elections cash.

Thomas and other gubernatorial candidates need 4,500 contributions of five dollars each to qualify for about three-quarters of a million dollars of public funds under the state's clean elections program. He can keep trying until the August 26 primary election to make the goal.

Ken Bennett, Arizona Secretary of State, announced Thomas' shortfall in an official letter today. Of the Qualifying Contribution Form Slips Thomas turned in last month, 272 were deemed invalid for various reasons and were tossed out, leaving him with the 113 deficit.

Time for Thomas to hit the hot streets for a few more weeks, apparently. Or hope the donations come through his online campaign site.

Maybe blogger Rachel Alexander, Thomas' bad-girl former employee who had her law-license suspended, can pitch for him in her blog, like she did last year for her cat.

Bennett, a candidate himself, has already qualified for his pot of clean-elections money. However, the Associated Press reported today that State Senator Al Melvin's attempt to obtain enough contributions is faltering, forcing him to contemplate suspending his campaign.

Once Thomas is eliminated from this race, we need to get him back into his straitjacket and back to the loony bin. He needs to take his meds.

I wonder if Andrew Thomas getting AZ CCEC tax money would be enough to get people to admit that government funding of political campaigns was a bad idea, is a bad idea and will forever be a bad idea?

Folks, we have to remember that this is the same guy who charged a sitting judge with 3 felony charges (a move that cost taxpayers $50+M to date).

He doesn't give a shit about the Constitution. He and Arpaio take turns wiping their asses with it.

I guarantee that if Thomas wins, he will abuse his power, his position, and his office.

We need a candidate that isn't mentally sick.

So, the second biggest unindicted criminal in Arizona just got rejected for $750K in clean elections cash.

Is he gonna file a hilarious RICO suit alleging a grand conspiracy?

Is he gonna abuse his power (like he did as MCA?)

Is he gonna order arrests of the Clean Elections staff?

Seriously, this racist fool needs to be shipped to an uncharted desert island. And have him take all of Arizona's criminal politicians with his sorry ass.

Anybody who donates to his campaign or believes any of the bullshit he spews should have their head examined.

Buh bye Andrew. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out.

Seems "Melvin" got fewer $5's than he's got friends, and probably won't even be on the ballot...

As the plumbing guy says "We don't hire any Melivins for your job!"

What's next for Candy?  finding a job where he castrates bulls?

So, Candy will have to give 113 more $5 BJ's at his next campaign event.....

@MaskedMagician1967 The citizens (Jury) found the facts propagated by BAR and Judiciary to be fraud and false! If you stand behind the BAR and Judiciary that much, why don't you just leave your door wide open for them to come into your home so that they can do as they please to you and your children!  I am sure when you are helpless and unable to protect your loves one you may then have the face of reality before you! Open your eyes buddy!

@Thane.Eichenauer it can be taken one of 2 ways

why give them money to win an election to spend our money if they cant manage their own

or

sometimes we need to help finance the honest guy to fight the crooked guy

it could go either way

brian9stevenson
brian9stevenson

@MaskedMagician1967 Good for him!  Judges use privet BAR organization moral views and values not our legislative views!  Keep sticking behind the BAR and Judiciary and soon they will surly be in your home molesting your children and taking your money for the time they spent in your home!

brian9stevenson

@Egregious_Philbin Sounds to me you would love to have Judges and attorneys invade your come and molest your children and charge you for the time they spend in your home!

@MaskedMagician1967 Again you keep going on and on as you have never heard of a judge being corrupt or a lawyer conspiring with the judge to make money off of children and fathers in family court! What rock have been living under?

@WhoKnows Melvin's campaign guru is Constine Querard, who, evidently must be scraping the bottom of the toilet for someone to represent.  Al is a constant source of unintended humor.

Unless Candy's getting a job as a matador, he might wanna stay away from the bulls balls WK....

Then again, grab a bucket of popcorn and some soda. I don't wanna miss this....

No person in their right mind would settle for only getting $5 to have Candy blow them.  Just the STD test you would want afterwards is going to cost a lot more than $5.

LMAO it was Thomas' own actions that led to his disbarment.

The ethics court found him guilty of 33 ethical violations. Aubuchon of 29, and Alexander of 7.

Open your eyes buddy. The man's a criminal and he's mentally unstable.

MaskedMagician1967

Yes. Yes he does Cozz.

But the possibility still exists (given the number of lemmings/racists in this county/state) that he could win.

@MaskedMagician1967 Their are three Commissioners in Pima County Superior Court who had a felony history and one even admitted to being involved in child molestation in the Saint Joesph seminary!

Brian, there were two judges in Pennsylvania, if memory serves me, that were kicked off the bench because they were getting kickbacks from the private prison industry.

The judges would sentence teens to the maximum penalty for whatever crime had been committed. The teens were sent to prison, and the prison would cut the judges a check for each teen sent there.

The judges made over a million dollars doing this.

Open your eyes.

@MaskedMagician1967 We pray that Thomas Wins!  He is the only one who has attempted to raise the BAR Morality to include accountability and integrity!   Aprox 36,000 children have been taken advantage of by the Pima County Judicial and BAR leadership! The CPS corruption is the result of the BAR and the Judiciary!

brian9stevenson

@danzigsdaddy Some bridges are not worth keeping if one has a conscience! The BAR and the Judiciary are corrupt! If you keep being a passive sheep and the time will come when the BAR and judiciary fraternity will invade your home and attack and molest you child and further make you pay for their unconstitutional activities inside your home!  So keep being a passive sheep.  When this happens to you or your loved ones, you will think back to this point buddy and recall the "warning of the wise".

danzigsdaddy
danzigsdaddy topcommenter

@brian9stevenson ???? thats what you got out of that? as for your comment of the BAR and judiciary being corrupt...........i couldnt agree more. and since Thomas used to belong to that group...................he is just as corrupt as they are. if you want to give a guy who has been already kicked out of a group of crooks for being a bigger crook any more power..........you are the one allowing the damage to be done

MaskedMagician1967

Zigs, here in Nazicopa County as well as Pima County, judges are appointed by the governor and face the voters every 4 years.

The other 13 counties elect their judges. I'm not sure if those judges face the voters every 4 years.

The bar is set really high to remove or impeach a judge or a DA. Remember Mike Nifong?

That isn't to say there are bad judges. I just think corrupt is too strong a word to use.

think of the story of the scorpion and the frog

Thomas was and is a criminal, and by giving him any power at all, he will show his true nature just as the scorpion did. and by refusing to be the frog, i am not going to give him the opportunity to show that true nature
