If you've found it difficult to get a complete picture of what's going on with the scandals at the nation's VA hospitals, we don't blame you.

The American Legion, a veterans service organization, created the image above explaining most of the allegations made against various VA hospitals, starting with Phoenix.

The VA Office of the Inspector General confirmed part of the allegations made against the VA health care system in Phoenix in a report yesterday -- an interim report released before the investigation is completed.

The interim report does not answer the question of whether 40 veterans died on various VA waiting lists, as a retired doctor has alleged, but the inspector general found about 1,700 veterans waiting to see a doctor who are "at risk of being forgotten or lost in Phoenix HCS's convoluted scheduling process."

In other words, according to the report, it's possible that those 1,700 veterans waiting for an appointment never would've seen a doctor.

"Our reviews have identified multiple types of scheduling practices that are not in compliance with VHA policy," the report states. "Since the multiple lists we found were something other than the official [electronic waiting list], these additional lists may be the basis for allegations of creating "secret" wait lists."

That report requested several immediate changes to the VA health care system in Phoenix which VA Secretary Eric Shinseki has agreed to.

However, there's still more to the investigation, including finding out whether 40 veterans actually died on this "secret" waiting list. President Obama said last week that it appears the veterans' deaths were not related to delays in care.

Thanks to the investigation in Phoenix, some of the allegations outlined in the image above are being investigated, but it's also uncovered more allegations in Phoenix:
Lastly, while conducting our work at the Phoenix HCS our on-site OIG staff and OIG Hotline received numerous allegations daily of mismanagement, inappropriate hiring decisions, sexual harassment, and bullying behavior by mid- and senior-level managers at this facility. We are assessing the validity of these complaints and if true, the impact to the facility's senior leadership's ability to make effective improvements to patients' access to care.
The inspector general didn't include a timetable of when this investigation is going to be completed.

While the investigative team is in Phoenix they really need to check into Sharon Helman's sexual affairs that she's been having with very senior VA official since she's been in Walla Wall, in Hines and Phoenix -- all paid for on the government dime. She ruled by terror and everyone except for her crony suck-ups feared for their jobs.

If you really want to dig up some dirt try investigating the Phoenix Veteran Benefits office located on Central Ave -- that place is a model workplace for cronyism and nepotism. What are the odds in any federal workplace that it has nearly a dozen husband and wives working at one location? HAHA -- Hell, even the deputy director's niece was given a cushy job and she is an airhead who went from a GS4 job to a GS11 job in 3 years -- how does that happen? NEPOTISM that's how. She's not even a veteran -- and I have veteran buddies with good degrees who can't even get a job interview with that VA office. It's no wonder they can't get anything dones -- they are all too busy looking out for their own paycheck. What a sad day -- my buddy call Kyrsten Sinema's office a couple weeks ago about a job he applied for and her people said to call Senator John McCain's office because they actually know what they are doing ! HAHA - talk about passing the buck. Sinema should be run out of office, and I don't care what kind of fake bs veteran awareness stuff she claims to have done in the past. She is fake.

Ain't that some shit. Other than maybe Illinois, VT, and Pennsylvania. Most of the fucked up VA Hospitals are in "RED STATES". Keep letting racism push you to vote against your own wellbeing and interests. Idiots.

JUST IN......SHINSEKI RESIGNED

Treating veterans like shit has practically become an American tradition. It has been going on since Vietnam and this is one shit sandwich that every President and ever Chief of Veterans Affairs for the last 45 years needs to open wide and take a big juicy bite of.

As far as The VA doing anything EFFECTIVE to improve care,

I'll believe it when I see it.....and I go to the VA for my medical care so I will see it, or not.

Shinseki will resign...soon. Maybe today. Certainly by next week.

AssHotey, you're right. The "Mess" at the VA festered under Bush. But that miserable, fucking boob is gone now. Obama is at bat. Obama doesn't give a shit about veterans. He wanted military personnel to carry there own insurance. The Obama administration created a system where VA administrators got bonuses with their false lists. They didn't fix anything. THEY GOT BONUSES! Goddamn them.

To clarify: From the article, " President Obama said last week that it appears the veterans' deaths were not related to delays in care." My point: Obama lied before, he's lying now. Further, Obama sounds like Arpaio, "If there are any victims...". Lying, bullshit, motherfuckers.

President Obama said you can keep your fucking health insurance. He's still fucking lying.

And that will reduce wait times how? It appears to me the politicians, under the cover of the American Legion, are diverting attention away from their part in this scandal.

The politicians have been ignoring Veterans groups who have testified before congress about the crises in the VA healthcare system for years, just to be ignored or worse, ridiculed by a republican senator in a letter sent out on a Friday before a three day weekend.

When you want to know why things are the way they are, just follow the money. Or in this case the lack of money needed to care for the veterans of past wars and the current wars this country is engaged in around the world.

On top of this lack of funding is an incentive/promotion system with unrealistic expectations given the current funding /staffing levels. So you have a system designed so that the only way you can get promoted is by gaming the system. Then you blame people for using the system the way it is designed. congress controls the budget.

So while the politicians get wined and dined by the contractors who want to privatize the VA and grab all that cash for themselves, they  are shameless in their pursuit of a scapegoat.

So Shinseki will be served up on a platter, the politicians will divert healthcare funding to the war profiteers and declare the problem solved. Nothing to see here, let's move along, we have wars to fight.

@jonnyquest President Bush said there were WMD's in Iraq and is still fucking lying about that.

Which has about as much to do with the story as your comment does.... i.e. nothing

Oh, and you can thank Bush for starting two illegal wars and not expecting more veterans needing service through the VA.. you can thank Bush and the Republicans for not seeing the outcome of their mistakes... you can than Bush and the Republicans for starting wars and creating veterans that need medical aid... all the while cutting VA funding...

Republicans are so smart it's scary.. seriously.

There are 2 problems driving the VA situation. First is the lack of medical personnel to provide healthcare at the VA and to the public at large. Second are the opportunistic politicians who always seek self benefit. Remember names at election time. Fall back on the self reliance you learned in the service. Back then you were part of a team you could count on. Now you're on your own. America owes veterans a huge debt. It will mostly go unpaid.

Speaking of unemployed slackers, where exactly are you employed stinky?  It seems you spend 24/7 on here making inane comments.

I would reverse your equation and it answers itself;

opportunistic  politicians who always seek self benefit = lack of medical personnel to provide healthcare at the VA...

As far as Veterans being on their own. I can tell you all about it.

My Grandfather was a WW1 Veteran exposed to Mustard Gas in France. You never wanted to ask him what he thought of Roosevelt unless you where ready for an earful.

My Father a Retired Air Force Veteran exposed to agent orange who suffered for years with diabetes while fighting with the VA for recognition of the existing science directly linking agent orange and diabetes.

And me? Look up Khamisiyah.

And that's just the last few generations. I could get get out the family book and pull out a few more stories from earlier wars, but I think you get the picture.

Are you referring to the same chemical weapons that Iraq bought from  the US (the Big Dick sold them to Saddam I think) and used on Iran while the US turned it's back?

I don't believe anything I read and only  half of what I personally witness.  But, if you are naive, feel free.

Notwithstanding the above, WMDs are WMDs.  I believe I was challenging the fly's assertion that there were none, not their origin.  Perhaps you have difficulty understanding the written word?
