The National Football League announced today that the 2015 Pro Bowl will be held at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.

Super Bowl XLIX will be held in Glendale a week later.

The Pro Bowl has been held at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii every year since 1980, except for 2010, when it was held at Sun Life Stadium in the Miami area, a week before the venue also hosted the Super Bowl.

The game hasn't been particularly exciting in recent history, as even NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has admitted. He actually said in 2012 he was considering eliminating the game if it's going to continue to be of such poor quality.

Nonetheless, the game gets pretty good TV ratings, year after year. In fact, a press release from the NFL points out the Pro Bowl has been "the most-watched all-star game in all of sports the past four years."

Interestingly, the league says the 2016 Pro Bowl will be back in Hawaii. The Super Bowl that year will be played in the San Francisco area, at Levi's Stadium, soon to be the new home of the San Francisco 49ers.

How much more will the Legislature give Glendale for this new corporate welfare for the NFL?

I thought that Honolulu's Aloha Bowl had a lock on this.
