For whatever reason, it always seems like Phoenix is getting a bad rep -- which shouldn't be the case.

We love Phoenix, and here are the top 10 reasons you should, too:

10.) The Culture

People who say Phoenix has no culture typically live in suburbs. (Really? Peoria and Gilbert don't have culture? You don't say.) There's culture here. Exhibit A: Consult New Times' "Best of Phoenix." Exhibit B: Consult New Times' culture blog, Jackalope Ranch.

Who conducted the research; the characters of dumb and dumber.... You can get the same quality of life in El Centro CA. and that is saying something.

Picking a place to live based on sound politics is the worst idea I've ever heard. Good luck with that!

The politics override anything positive Phoenix and Arizona has to offer. Most sane people have left or are trying to leave.

I have lived in both places. I am completely correct. You are showing your ignorance. I am also the father of a special needs kid, so FU.

Not as hot here as it is cold in Minnesota? Don't tell me you took the short bus to school as a child, haha.

You forgot the arts scene, the history, and some super cool music venues. Can I redo this article? #AlmostRight

I agree with the natural disasters...some of the other stuff is semi true. However, I'm not sure how I feel about the "culture" section. I think we are a diverse state but I don't see Arizona as having it's own cultural background.

Lived in NY for 38 years. We don't have NY Pizza or bagels, but we also don't have NY taxes, tolls, and traffic. Anyone who thinks Phoenix traffic is bad has NEVER driven in Boston, NYC, Metro New Jersey, Washington DC, Philadelphia, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. Don't even bother. The BIGGEST problem we have with traffic is people not using signals. It's not even in the SAME LEAGUE as their (see cities listed above) problems.

Uh, this list sucks. I think the writer is reviewing the wrong city. Culture? Mexican. Weather? Hot, Nice Traffic? No, Proximity? You mean places that are actually worth going to?. i'm not going to keep going on. On a side note, after reading through everyone's comments. I dont think 90% of these people actually clicked on the link.

Born & raised in this beautiful state with exception of a few yrs in San Francisco & Orange County.. Phoenix will always be my home and feels great to be back home! Although, the traffic is getting a little heavier.. That's how you know schools back in session!! \U0001f609

Other than a few goofy politicians, not much here to dislike. If you can't find something to do here, then you just aren't trying.

I think the trick to is to find a way to cope with the heat. I usually hide out in the AC M-F, then go to mnts or cali for the weekends..all good reasons you've mentioned I love it here

Why must I turn the page for such a brief article? Is New Times so in need of ad dollars? Put it all on one page

I was born in Northern AZ. I miss the snow & seasons. I visted Colorado a few times, I am ready for a change of scenery. PHX will always be around for visits. The older I get the more sensitive I've become to the crazy summer heat :( What's that saying if you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen. I will miss this kitchen a great deal.

I have lived here almost my whole life, I moved away for four years and I can say that the only people who complain about living here are the people who have no idea what it's like to live somewhere else.

It's kind of funny that one of the reasons is that it's easy to go somewhere else.

Civic pride gives me goose bumps I must add a couple of my favs. #11 When it rains mud. #12 The smell of cat piss and pigeon shit after a summer sprinkle.

It's close to CA and Vegas. Does anyone really "Love" Phoenix? or are they just dealing with it, and trying to make the best of it because they're stuck here?

I did not say that, but since you brought it up, the destruction of the unions by the fair trade act, set up the American workforce for the rape most employees are experiencing today. And not just here in Az.
