The Chandler Police Department has released the surveillance footage of a shooting at a 7-Eleven store last week.

Two customers pulled guns on each other inside the store, and one man got a shot off, hitting the other man in the face. The injury wasn't life threatening.

If that sounds like a familiar story, it's probably because a couple weeks before that, a man was fatally shot at Walmart -- about a mile down the road from this 7-Eleven -- after getting into an altercation with a customer there.

At the 7-Eleven, the two men started an argument, which escalated into the two men shoving each other, police said.

Both men pulled guns on one another, and police said it appears the man who pulled his gun first was the one who fired the shot.

The man who was shot was identified as 39-year-old Kenneth Morrow. The other person seen around Morrow in the video is his teenage son.

The shooter, a 34-year-old Chandler resident whose name wasn't released, hasn't been arrested in the shooting. Police said he cooperated with police, and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office would review the case to determine if charges are appropriate.

Typical "Law Abiding Gun Owners" the NRA is always yammering about.

Anybody want to bet how long it takes one of these "real men" to blow away an innocent bystander or two?

If there's collateral damage in one these "stand your ground" type incidents where a bystander is shot and killed, will the shooter automatically be charged with murder? If not, why the hell not? Something like that is bound to happen sooner or later.

Looks like the stupid nigger was out trying to pick fights with people, thinking he was the only one in this state carrying a gun, and got the rudest awakening of his life. Probably a recent transplant from someplace like California or Illinois.

Seems like Morrow bumped the shooterwith his elbow who must have said something. Then Morrow gets in his face, throws a punch, shooter attempts to back off when he sees son joining engagement, then he stands his ground and fires. He should be arrested for shooting gangster style though.

We need a "Phoenix's Funniest Convenience Store Shooting Videos" show, with the Benny Hill music looped over the footage.

You realize, don't you, that these guys are (were) both thugs.

If that was the normal behavior of the average law-abiding person who carries for protection, there would be shootings in grocery stores several times per day.

@eric.nelson745

This seems more like a case of two macho assholes getting mad and one shooting the other, but in a legitimate "stand your ground" scenario, the person being shot at would be the criminal and so would be charged with first degree murder if anybody dies as a result of their crime.

That's really you, isn't it Jaffy???

There just can't be two people here who are that fucking dumb. It's a violation of the laws of natural selection.

You're wrong on both accounts. His elbow was elevated but he never touched him. Also the first physical contact was chest to chest. The shooter then pushes Morrow and it escalates from there. It also doesn't help that he pulled his gun first. I watched it slower and more than once which is what Maricopa County is going to do.

@valleynative,

It's not a matter of "if" it will happen, it's just a matter of when.

I wonder how many of these cowboys bother to learn the ballistic data on the ammo they load their carry piece with?

You know things like crush cavity or depth of penetration.

Where in the Second Amendment does it say "thugs" don't have a RIGHT to Keep and Bear Arms, or to carry them concealed for "protection" ?

@valleynative  ... there is nothing in the SYG law that requires the person being shot to be "the criminal" ... merely that the gutless piss-pant coward who shoots first be "in fear" for his safety.

@shadeaux14 @valleynative

The responsible people who I know that carry make informed choices about the defensive ammunition they load.  I wouldn't be surprised to find that gangbangers load cheap range ammo that would over-penetrate.

WTF does Arpaio have to do with this?  In your mind, does anybody who supports gun rights also support Arpaio?  You keep it pretty simple in there, don't you?
