One man shot another man in the face inside a 7-Eleven store in Chandler Wednesday night, according to police.

The man's injury isn't life-threatening, but this is the second time in less than two weeks that a customer of a Chandler business shot another customer inside the store.

On February 16, two men got into a physical fight at a Walmart store, which is a little more than a mile down the street from the 7-Eleven, on Warner Road.

In the Walmart case, police said the shooter pulled a gun and fatally shot 36-year-old Kriston Belinte-Chee. The shooter told police he shot the man because he was losing the fight and "was in fear for his life." The shooter, 25-year-old Cyle Quadlin, hasn't been charged, but police are forwarding the case to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office to make a decision on possible charges.

In the 7-Eleven incident Wednesday night, the two customers started an argument, which escalated into the two men shoving each other, according to Chandler Police Sergeant Joe Favazzo.

One of the men pulled out a gun, and pointed it at the other man, but the other man pulled out a gun of his own.

Favazzo says it appears that the shooter had pulled his gun first. Neither man's name has been released at this point, but police say they're both Chandler residents.

The shooter left the store but turned himself in to police. Favazzo says the shooter's not in custody, as police are investigating the incident.

The man who was shot in the face was hospitalized, but, again, the wound isn't life-threatening, police say. The man was at the store with his teenage son during all this, police say.

Favazzo says police plan on releasing more detailed information later today.

UPDATE 12:21 p.m.: From Chandler PD:
The man who was shot has been identified as: Kenneth Morrow (39 years old). Mr. Morrow remains in the hospital with a serious but not life threatening gunshot wound to the face. The shooter in this case has not been arrested and his information is not being released at this time. He is cooperating with police. He is a Chandler resident, 34 years old . . . This case remains under investigation and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office will be consulted on this case as in the Walmart case.

We need more guns, they seem to be increasing "Artificial Courage" in Cowards?!

ie: The punk at Walmart losing a fight he started.

Why wasn't the shooter arrested? This is an outrage.

Hey City of Chandler, I think you need to re-analyze the way you investigate shootings in your city. 2 shootings within 2 weeks of each other and of which 1 ended in a fatality and yet no one's been arrested or charges filed in either case due to those involved claiming self-defense?

Sadly, it's just a matter of time until innocent bystanders become gunshot victims. I will venture to say that if neither man was armed the conflict may have been nothing more than profanity laced shouting.

Thank you, Mrs. Brewer, of signing the concealed carry law into effect.

By God, we have our 2nd amendment rights!

How about guns become illegal and we learn how to kick ass with our bare hands.

It's not a bad neighborhood. I get gas across the street all the time. Never feel unsafe. Even that Walmart isn't bad. Just idiots with their toys.

More guns! The solution to gun violence is obvious. More guns!

If only one of them had a gun, it just would have been a murder... Sounds like self defense to me

Can we just put all these cowboys in one stadium and let them kill each other?

People actually question gun control? Arizonans ask, "why does the rest of the country think we're idiots?" Why do people say that this is still 'frontierland"". BECAUSE OF STUPID PEOPLE LIKE THIS! Because of a state that says it's ok to carry! When there are signs outside of gov't buildings, stores, etc saying no weapons allowed, what does that tell thinking society? That we live in a land of morons! Arizona is a land of morons; simply watch people drive, watch them try to enter/exit a freeway. Idiots!

Every city has its ghetto but a shooting doesn't mean you're in the ghetto. Chandler has some very nice neighborhoods but a shooting can happen there too. Open your minds.

What happened to Chandler?! I used to live there and enjoyed that it was always under the radar.

don't you think the guy defending his life acted on exactly that knowledge? If that's dumbass, then your smartass wouldn't feel the hurt if you get shot dead.

Freeman
Freeman

@robert_graham It's the opposite. The guy shot in the face should be arrested on several charges. The guy defending his life should be applauded he used a gun for what it is intended.

Freeman

you must not have watched the video, and yet you think you are God-almighty and know it all. How would you feel minding your own business picking out a candy bar and being targeted and outnumbered by racist gun-toting bullies? Even if you eat your wheaties & your spinach, you wouldn't stand a chance, Gramps. The guys chasing down the shooter should be charged with several crimes. If you are interested in justice, pursue that.

Freeman
Freeman

so you are you used to cartoons where the good-guy invariably "kicks ass" to use your wording, even if he's smaller and outnumbered? How about you set an example of how it should be in the real world and learn to take it in the ass from two big aggressive racists.

Freeman
Freeman

Better idea gramps, How about we stick you and your little dog too in the candy isle with two big gun-toting racists foaming at the mouth to kick your little white ass and let them have their way with you?????

Freeman
Freeman

and civilized guys like you prefer to pre-emptively drop the soap to make friends with the bullies.

Freeman
Freeman

...and a guy minding his own businsess in the candy isle when he is targeted by gun toting racists looking for a victim.

Freeman

or as good a place as any to defend yourself

Freeman

Only the bad guys should have guns in your world? Do you have fantasies about being defenseless with two big guys with guns having their way with you? Do you lock your doors at night or lay there getting excited as you wait for them to come and get you?

Freeman
Freeman

So you say because of stupid people like this? So you must have the genius idea of being slaughtered by racist gun-toting guys who find you minding your own business in the candy isle. If you think it's stupid to defend yourself, I'd agree as long as you have the brilliance of speaking for yourself.

You agree with Donkey.  That's a bad sign.

We don't yet know whether or not the person who shot was defending his life from a violent attacker, yet you condemn him and all who carry.

That's another bad sign for your intellect.

Freeman
Freeman

what happens to good guys without guns when there are bad guys with guns?

Freeman
Freeman

watch the video, and you will see the gun-toting racists provoking an incident with a guy who was minding his own business in the candy isle.

Freeman

@DonkeyHotay @TommyCollinsIn response to the RACIST COWARDS part--watch the video. See the gun-toting racist individuals prowling around for someone of another color to outnumber and harass. Once their target is spotted in the candy isle looking down at what looks like his cell phone, the first Racist backsteps to turn down the candy isle with obviously no purpose other than to raise his elbow and knock into the other guy and provoke a conflict. The other guy attempts to retreat, and the two RACIST COWARDS are stopped. If you like to be bullied and harassed by RACIST strangers when you are doing something as simple as minding your own business in the candy isle, that's your right, Donkey aka ASS, thankfully for non-masochists other people defend the right to defend themselves from GUN TOTING RACIST COWARDS.

@valleynative  ... we DO KNOW the shooter committed a VIOLENT ACT

That FACT is incontrovertible.

Yet you pretend to invent scenarios and facts not in evidence in your typical pathetic attempt to defend cowardly gun violence.

DonkeyHotay
DonkeyHotay topcommenter

@valleynative ... until you obtain some actual evidence of violence by the victim, the clear incontrovertible fact remains that the shooter did in fact use extreme lethal violence upon the victim by shooting him in the face.

@DonkeyHotay @valleynative

I haven't invented anything, liar.  I've pointed out that we don't know whether the violence was, or was not, entirely justified under the law.
