Joe Arpaio's Workplace Busts Continue: Grand Total of One Employee Arrested at Chili's

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office carried out its 76th and 77th "criminal employment" operations this week, and the results were unspectacular.

The result of the 76th operation: One guy arrested at a Chili's restaurant in Mesa.

The result of the 77th: Two employees of Arizona Shower Door in Phoenix.

As is usual in these operations, no business owners were arrested for hiring people alleged to be in the country illegally -- just the lowly employees. Only one of these 77 operations has resulted in an owner or person in charge of hiring being arrested.

According to the MCSO, the man at Chili's was busted after it was discovered that he was being paid under someone else's name, which became an issue when that person declared a lower income when trying to obtain food stamps.

The Sheriff's Office says the Arizona Shower Door bust was the result of a "four-month investigation."

Coincidentally, the former owner of Arizona Shower Door, Fred Knadler, was just sentenced to eight years in prison less than a week ago on an attempted kidnapping charge. He was arrested in 2012 after allegedly trying to hire an employee to kill his wife.

The Arizona Shower Door website lists Knadler's sons Paul and Pete as the "executive team" for the company now.

All three people caught in the busts were booked into jail on charges of forgery and identity theft, according to MCSO.

Please:

Some one needs to design Senile Sheriff Arpaio a virtual reality interactive video game where he can chase Hispanic dishwashers, burger flippers, and Merry Maids into the sunset, while sitting in his rocking chair at his new office?

Please no rough sidewalks in the game.

Just thinking aloud (or not), but isn't the MCSO's primary enforcement area supposed to be the unincorporated areas and the contract cities?  I was under the impression that Mesa Police is responsible for Mesa while Arpaio is targeting the cities that have their own law enforcement.

So he's using personnel paid to enforce laws in his primary jurisdiction to conduct sweeps in someone else's jurisdiction?

Better they keep occupied with this than some of the other destructive pastimes they're probably dreaming up.

There was more than one person arrested. Those people arrested ADMITTED to being here illegally and using stolen identification to work. But if you think that it is so okay for illegals to steal and use other people's social security numbers to work how about if you dumb liberals give out your number then? Or maybe you have done that already?

NO! it DOES NOTHING to curb illegal immigration, especially when he does nothing to the business owners. They are just dog and pony shows to keep his blind supporters on their toes.

Hey, a bust is a bust right? but since it was a employer sanction raid, and it only got 1 guy....................................is it still considered a significant operation?  how many guys went in in the operation? would that be considered overkill, or poor information?

Just an excuse to NOT serve the most outstanding felony warrants for any county in the country...

One knows Arpaio is in trouble when fox and friends runs a showing of his costing the Maricopa tax payers $32 million in just the money needed to defend his office during the Thomas controversy, which ultimately brought him down and his cronies and had them all disbarred and disgraced! Arpaio is like Custer, surrounded and doomed its just a matter of time before one of two things happen Justice Department indicts him or father time comes to collect his mortal soul so he can shovel coal onto that lake of fire with those other two toughest lawmen of history in America, J Edgar Hoover the gay fellow who liked to dress in ladies attire, and had him a male lover, and the sadist Alabama Sheriff Bull Conner's who famously beat, turned attack dogs on peaceful civil rights demonstrators! They would be the unholy trinity! One has to wonder what dark demons lurk in Arpaio's mind that he likes to see men in pink undies, house them in dungeons/tent cities, feed them green bologna, bread and water etc., and his greatest achievement is to chase poverty stricken Hispanics! He obviously has demons and maybe like J Edgar Hoover his will come to the light of day when he is gone and unable to suppress it!

How about he worry about real crime and leave enforcement of employment violations to the proper agency.

The old man continues to use human resources on this stuff, instead of concentrating his officers on serious criminal activity. It will be nice when we witness his demise and someone interested in providing professional law enforcement takes office.

Better he be out catching dishwashers and maids than wife beaters and real crooks. What a showboat douchebag

Peter Fullmer

Way too much time and money allocated to show boating. All the rich, white conservatives will continue to love him for it because, in their eyes, he's getting rid of all those icky Mexicans who make them feel uncomfortable. However, the fact is that most of the people (that's what they are, illegal or not) arrested in these stings will likely be exonerated. All the while, we have real crimes involving innocent victims going on daily here that may not be receiving the attention they deserve.

So our legal system is set up to search for and investigate people who are working? Our Sheriffs department needs a budget cut, apparently they have way too much time on their hands.

Low hanging fruit is Nickle Bag Joe's claim to fame, except when it comes to civil suit awards which are over 50+ millions dollars that have been paid out because of Arpaio's maleficence..

Not when that money could have been better spent on more important causes, like being put towards all those un-investigated child rape cases.

ONE person arrested on a paperwork charge? What a waste of resources and taxpayer dollars.
