With that out of the way, here's where police will be setting up "saturation patrols" around the Valley, looking for impaired drivers this weekend:

Good evening sir (or madame), have you been drinking tonight?

No.

Your drivers license, proof of insurance and your papers please!

That's the way it's gotta be.

Thank you, New Times, for encouraging people to drink and drive in other parts of the Valley.

Agreed, Michael, but it sounds like these are patrols, not stops. I'm all for police watching out for and catching drunk drivers.

The police should not be allowed to pull you over without probable cause. I wish there were a DC lobby as zealously dedicated to protecting the Fourth Amendment as the NRA protects the Second Amendment.

Fuck a check point. Lazy law enforcement and border line entrapment. Don't say dick show your DL and move on.

Why are you warning people? Arrange a DD or a cab.

Why would you tell them were the police will be? They choose to drink and drive, so let them take the consequences.

DUI check points are dangerous - I once had a drunk bite me cause I was the sober driver and I stopped at a DUI check point. Be careful and avoid DUI checkpoints drunk or sober!
