Entire Flight to Phoenix Actually Not Exposed to Tuberculosis

It turns out that a bunch of people on a flight to Phoenix were not exposed to tuberculosis, according to the county health department.

The horrifying story over the weekend was that passengers on US Airways flight 2846 from Austin to Phoenix were told upon their arrival at Sky Harbor International Airport that they wouldn't be getting off the plane immediately, as a medical mask was placed on one passenger's face and he was escorted off the plane.

Passengers told various news outlets that they were then told they would need to get tested for tuberculosis because the guy who'd just been escorted of the plane had it. This obviously caused some panic.

The story eventually surfaced that the man had been placed on a no-fly list for having a serious communicable disease and had been placed on the list only after the plane was in the air.

Turns out, the guy didn't actually have tuberculosis, according to Maricopa County Public Health. The agency says there's no tuberculosis risk to the passengers of the flight.

The man, who reportedly flew into Phoenix to catch an international flight, has been cleared to fly again by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to the county health department.

Haha. It usually takes an act of Congress to be taken off the no-fly list. A high percentage of people on it shouldn't be. And they're basically screwed. The only way to really know if you're on it is to arrive for your flight two hours early just to find out you're grounded. Then authorities won't tell you why and they probably don't know either. Only the TSA has the full scoop and they're not talking. That and the fascist Patriot Act are remnants of 9/11 hysteria.

Some Democrats have actually suggested that certain Constitutional rights should be automatically denied to anybody on the list, despite the fact that there is no due process whatsoever involved.
