One of two men who pulled off a "beer run" at a Phoenix AM/PM convenience store repeatedly smacked the store clerk with a case of beer when he tried to intervene.

Phoenix Police Sergeant Darren Burch, the Silent Witness Coordinator, announced today that there's a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the a suspects' arrests.

There's video footage of the assault, and it looks painful. See that footage at the bottom of the post.

Here's the information released today by Burch:
Location: 4245 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix

Date/Time: Saturday, October 5, 2013 at approximately 11:28 PM

Suspect #1: Hispanic male, 20-25 years old, 5'11", 240 lbs., tattoo on right forearm

Suspect #2: Hispanic male, 20-25 years old, 5'9", 180 lbs.

Suspect Vehicle: Dark blue Chevy Avalanche truck

On Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:25 pm the suspects entered the AM/PM and attempted to commit a "beer run". The store clerk tried to stop the suspects and one of the suspects began to physically assault the clerk by punching him repeatedly and hitting him with a box of beer. As the suspects exited the store the clerk followed and the other suspect punched the clerk. The suspects entered a dark blue Chevy Avalanche where one of the suspects grabbed a black handgun. The clerk then retreated back into the store.
If you want to claim that money, you have to call 480-948-6377 or go to the website with the info.

Wow! Just wow! Its not even worth it for the clerk to go after these chumps.  AM/PM im sure has an insurance policy that compensates them for each stolen case of beer.  As for the felons who couldn't afford to shell out the $80 for those 4 cases of beer, just job catching a case and soon to be headed to the pokey.  Going to cost you more than $80 now.

That certainly went from a misdemeanor theft to aggravated robbery in a hurry.
