Although it was just a month ago that Senator John McCain hinted that this might be his last term, he's walked back on that one (of course).

McCain, who made his first trip to Congress in 1983, now says he's "seriously thinking about maybe" running for reelection in 2016.

Of course, there's another elderly gentleman from the Grand Canyon State who's announced his intention to seek reelection in 2016 -- Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who's currently 81 years old.

By the 2016 election, McCain would be 80, and Arpaio would be 84.

Make your predictions in this morning's poll: which senior citizen will stay in office longer (as far as the calender's concerned, not by age)?

I'm from Arizona and I don't want either one of these two old senile racist. McCain is a dangerous warmongering madman that's determined to get us involved in a major war and he's a racist. Arpaio is also a sadistic person that's also a racist.  Can't they both these old senile buffoons just go away?

McCain just looks like he's in better health than Arpaio. Ergo my vote for him.

Neither will run for office again. McCain will face an ugly, brusing primary. And lose. Arpaio's time in jail for contempt will take the fight out of him. He'll say "no mas".

Arpaio will die in office, McCain will retire in 2016.

I know you were being kind, Mr. Hendley, but the elderly shurf is anything but a gentleman. I didn't vote, simply because I am hoping divine intervention will take the shurf out of the running.

Let's just elect an 80 year old governor now and if we throw in an 80 yr old attorney general we can have a grand slam.

Let's see, which State will vote for a Vietnam War returned POW without asking any other questions, you know, like "would you like to fly to the Bahamas in Charles Keating's jet?" Ah hah, Arizona, there is a State with just enough brain dead voters to keep this crack pot it office all these years.

@eric.nelson745  Dumb & Dumber = McCain & Arpaio  Really one is as bad as the other. they're both a disgrace to our state. McCain wants to start nuclear wars with numerous countries and Arpaio wants to start another race war.

@Reggievv Did you know that when McCain was a naval aviator he crashed not one but 2 planes? That's not counting when a North Vietnamese MiG pilot blew him out of the sky over Hanoi.
