Concrete-Truck Drivers Have Just Been Crashing Everywhere Around Phoenix

One of several concrete trucks to crash in the past two weeks.

It might be a good time to stay far away from concrete trucks on the highway.

In the past two weeks, four concrete-mixer trucks have crashed, and almost all those crashes have come on busy highways during rush hour (of course).

On September 26, one of the trucks rolled over on U.S. 60 near the Ellsworth Road on-ramp.

About half an hour after that, another truck rolled over on its side, on Loop 202 near Country Club Drive.

Notice the other vehicle just kind of chillin' on the barrier on the other shoulder.

After almost two whole weeks of highways staying clear of concrete trucks on their sides, another one rolled over this morning on Loop 101 southbound, near Chandler Boulevard. That one was on fire.

At the time of this post, just short of 10 a.m., an ADOT spokesman said only one lane was open.

That seems to be plenty of concrete trucks crashing in a two-week span, right?

Well, you might want to check the bottom of Bartlett Lake -- it has a new concrete truck as of this morning:

I place some blame on the drivers they hire for those concrete trucks but totally agree with you about the *rude words* who cut in across and drive as if they own the road. They drive distracted and NEVER use signals. It is endemic.

Too many trucks and too little room. In addition to that many of those truck drivers are unskilled. Add to the mix the arrogant and entitled in their late model vehicles which, surprisingly and alarmingly, do not appear to have been fitted with traffic signals. Then there are young women who text and drive. Women should know better......

You are all idiots if you think it's always the truckers' fault. If they go too fast, you're cursing at 'em. If they go too slow, you're cursing at 'em. If they go the Speed Limit, you're still cursing at 'em because you're speeding and are trying to pass 'em.

Yup.all the truckers fault. They were probably swerving to avoid running over the asshole or assholes that just cut them off. Sad part is those people dont know how close the came to death because of it. Know what really sucks ? These guys were probably cited , and lost their job over it too. Fuck 4 wheelers. ...........

They're just driving to damn fast. I see it all the time with straight trucks, tow trucks, even gasoline trucks, where they get paid by the load or are just young, inexperienced drivers who think that thing will react like a pickup truck. In addition to the cars cutting off trucks thinking they'll all react and hit the brakes for them...assuming they see them in time. Yes, stay away from the trucks (clearance)
