Arizona Cardinals fans will have to find someone new to blame every time Carson Palmer gets sacked.

The team announced that left tackle Levi Brown has been traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, pending Brown's passing a physical.

Although Brown was the fifth overall pick by the Cardinals in the 2007 draft, most Cardinals fans would probably be happy to get a stale bag of Circus Peanuts in return for Brown at this point.

The team says the trade was for a traditional draft pick, so if Brown goes to Pittsburgh and plays like Levi Brown, the Cardinals probably will get a late-round pick.

Levi Brown's trade value.

Brown hung on as the starting right tackle on the team that went to the Super Bowl and the second round of the playoffs next year.

In 2010, Brown moved to left tackle, and there was no Kurt Warner -- a recipe for instant sucking.

To Brown's credit, the team was just as horrible without him last year, when he sat out the whole season with a triceps injury, and a couple of backups had to take his spot.

In the first game of this season, Brown was absolutely dominated for three sacks (see them all here).

No tears will be shed over his departure. Hindsight's 20/20, but don't forget some other first-round picks drafted after Brown in 2007:

  • Adrian Peterson
  • Patrick Willis
  • Marshawn Lynch
  • Darrelle Revis
  • Joe Staley

(Thank goodness the Oakland Raiders took JaMarcus Russell off the board with the first overall pick.)

The Cardinals' depth chart currently lists Bradley Sowell as the top left tackle. Sowell was undrafted in 2012, and was claimed off waivers by the Cardinals earlier this season.
