Worse Subject for Trent Franks: Abortion, or War?

Congressman Trent Franks

Congressman Trent Franks stopped spinning his abortion broken-record last week to talk about a new subject: war.

Franks announced that he plans to introduce a resolution authorizing the use of military force against Iran.

Franks apparently missed the memo about the American public being sick and tired over the constant wars.

Then again, Franks apparently also missed the memo that nobody likes the guy who won't stop talking about abortion, and Franks' fanatical obsession with abortion is pretty well-documented.

Usually, it would be refreshing to hear that Franks had something to say on a subject other than fetuses. Unfortunately, he's making loose talk of war.

Which would you say is a worse topic for Franks: abortion, or war?

Wow...the republican party depends upon freaks and nuts to buy its snake oil. Wow. "State sponsored human sacrifice machine." Maybe if one were talking metaphorically about the military industrial complex...but wow.

So glad I no longer live in this asshat's district...now if we could just get the rest of the resident idiots  there to realize how incompetent and useless he is as a congressman. I'm not holding my breath...at this rate I fear the only way Franks is leaving office is if he chooses to retire, or Father Time finally catches up to him. Kind of like a certain sheriff we all know...

Ask anyone who has ever tried to get help from his office; banging your head against a brick wall would be more useful (unless of course you like getting completely unrelated form letters talking about what a great crusader he is for the rights of the unborn!)

Too bad someone can't dig up some really salacious dirt on this guy, like maybe he's a major closet case, or he has a farm animal fetish...somebody hack his computer, please!!!

Poll proves it we are tired of the war monger talking about abortion.  Now when are the voters going to be tired of Mr Franks for good?

Abortion is where he's at his worst.

Asking for pre-authorization for a strike doesn't mean he wants to attack.  It's just a recognition of the fact that, if the time should come when we would need to strike for any reason, we wouldn't want to have to wait for Obama to give a few speeches and ask Congress what to do.

Leave it to Arizona Republicans to gravitate towards the most controversial subjects, Of course it's how they get attention. They don't know what they're talking about, but it creates headlines RIGHT?... Just like the rest of the Republican Media whores in AZ...Joke Arpiao, Russel Hitler Pierce, Jan Brewha, Paul poke an immigrant Babeu, and the rest of the Arizona lame ass retarded dumbass coalition...

Warren G. Richards

Trent Franks and all other GOP politicians in AZ politics and in USA politics must be removed from office by a supermajority of us voting overwhelmingly BLUE, without falling for bullshit sham candidates like Russell Pearce tried planting to dilute the votes against him a few years back, so that the ignorance of the class-warfare and ethnic ignorance of RepubliKKKan politicians can no longer be considered in public policy decisions.

He only talks about war and abortion? Must be a Republican.

Saying "let's hack his computer and blackmail him" knocks you down a bit from the moral high ground, wouldn't you say?

@66rock As soon as Arizona has an electorate with an above room temperature IQ. In other words- in another decade or three.

Valley, Congressional Republicans would've complained that Obama was abusing his power if he ordered military strikes against Syria without their consent.

However, because the president requested Congressional consent before ordering a military strike against Syria he's dragging his feet?

I would presume the War Powers Act granted the president some leeway in ordering military strikes. However maybe he felt that asking Congress was better.

@MaskedMagician1967

He said himself that he didn't need their authorization.

Yes, of course he was dragging his feet.  He caught a break of sorts when the Russians stepped in and took the pressure off.

@cugagcmu80 @valleynative

Read the news articles at the time.  Kerry wasn't serious about disarming.  Putin took it as a possibility and pushed it forward.

@valleynative. It wasn't Putin who offered a diplomatic solution instead of a military one.  It was President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry. Putin was still holding out and claiming that it was the rebels who were responsible for the chemical attack.  As soon as the president offered the diplomatic instead of the military solution, Putin and Assad jumped on it.  The only thing Putin "stepped in" and accomplished effectively was running his mouth and pretending to be the baddest guy on the planet in an attempt to cover his fear that the U.S. would launch a military attack in Syria.  President Obama got just what he was seeking the entire time---taking away Assad's ability to use chemical weapons on his citizens again.  Only in an alternate universe can the person who makes an offer be viewed as "dragging his feet." There's a major difference between being proactive and being reactive. President Obama was proactive, Putin and Assad were reactive.
