Phoenix Suns Will Be the Most Unwatchable Team in the NBA, Says USA Today

If you planned on watching the Phoenix Suns this season, it might be time to make new plans.

According to USA Today, the Suns will be the most unwatchable team in the NBA.

This might not come as a surprise, since the Suns had the fourth-worst record in the NBA last year, and the absolute worst record in the Western Conference.

The team's number-one draft pick this year, center Alex Len, isn't exactly billed as the savior of the franchise, and new GM Ryan McDonough got rid of several of the recognizable names on the team: Michael Beasley, Jared Dudley, Luis Scola and Caron Butler (not like that's a bad thing).

Now that the Suns are clearly in the ol' "rebuilding mode," they will only be worse next year, USA Today surmises. The paper is counting down all the NBA teams by how exciting they will be to watch this year, and, of course, started off with the Suns at number 30, since there's no excitement to be had.

Really, the only thing you could hope for this season as a Suns fan is another lottery pick in next year's draft.

USA Today doesn't seem to find much excitement in watching a team that counts Goran Dragic, Marcin Gortat, and Eric Bledsoe as its stars.

From USA Today:
JUST TRY TO IGNORE ...

Ugly basketball: Dragic, Gortat and Bledsoe all would be role players on good teams. Here, they will be asked to be the stars. The Suns may have the worst-constructed roster in basketball, and watching Dragic and Bledsoe take shots that no one else is more qualified to take won't be pretty.
Obviously, every other NBA team is ranked higher by USA Today on the watchability scale, but it really gives it some perspective when you note that the Suns are one of two teams the paper deems less watchable than the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Suns' first game of the season is at home on October 30, against the Portland Trailblazers.

You couldn't be more wrong about how watchable the Suns will be.  Coach Hornacek is going to have these guys playing fastbreak basketball and the team is loaded with speed and athleticism - starting with four fast guards Bledsoe, Dragic, Archie Goodwin and Ish Smith.  Three of them are PGs so they can play in all six combinations.  On the wings they have PJ Tucker, who only has one speed - full throttle, and athletic Gerald Green who is itching to play this style of ball.  They have three young bigs who are fairly athletic in Len, Plumlee and Kravtsov so the opponents frontcourt guys with have to hustle back on defense, too.

Bledsoe is a one man full court press but he's going to have enthusiastic help from Dragic and Tucker - at a minimum.  The team is going to be strong rebounding - unlike typical Suns teams.  They don't have any dominating rebounders but virtually everyone on the roster except for Markieff Morris and Channing Frye rebounds well for their position - even little Ish Smith, believe it or not

Where they won't be good is scoring in the halfcourt - expect a ton of threes, even on the break.  When the threes are falling they'll win some games.  Another thing they'll win is the respect of the other team - they will not be looking forward to playing the Suns again.

Interesting... You mean to tell me that they will be worse to watch than:

Philadelphia - who boasts Evan Turner as their best player???

Orlando - Are they still an NBA team?

Charlotte - Really? Al Jefferson excites you that much?

Should I go on?

Yeah, we aren't going to have a great record, but just Dragic and Bledsoe alone make us more interesting than at least 5 other teams.

I actually disagree with your statement . With Bledsoe , Goodwin and Len , I actually believe people will tune in just to watch these ballers fly up and down the court . The ooze aleticism and THATS what brings the fans . Now , will they be a great team ?? Absolutely not !! But what they WILL BE is fun to watch,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Mark my words . I said it here on 9/10/13

Now what will all the people do? They'll have to find something other than watching a bunch of grossly over-paid, over-grown children dribble.

You say that because you have no athletic skills and are jealous by the money they make meanwhile you sit at home and smoke dope with no future.
