Federico's Mexican Food Offering Free Burritos for That Whole Bloody-Diarrhea Outbreak Thing

Categories: News

Now that the dust has settled from the "bloody diarrhea outbreak," Federico's Mexican Food will be offering free burritos on Monday.

You can get your burrito at only one location -- the one where Maricopa County health officials believe an E. coli outbreak sickened 74 people, who ended up with the aforementioned bloody diarrhea.

The outbreak came only from the Federico's location in Litchfield Park, and health officials attribute it to a certain kind of E. coli bacteria: E. coli O157. That restaurant location voluntarily closed but will be serving free burritos for Mexican Independence Day, which is on Monday.

The company apparently hired the "Queen of Clean" -- some sort of TV personality who cleans things -- as a "cleaning consultant" for the restaurant. She'll be there for her free burrito, too.

She created a video explaining how she bleached the shit out of everything in the restaurant, so everything should be good now:

A food-safety law firm filed a lawsuit against the restaurant's parent company, on behalf of several of the people sickened. One of the men allegedly had what was described as "grossly bloody bouts of diarrhea," which doesn't sound good when combined with the concept of "free burritos."

Not sure how a business owner could apologize to the public better than this, unless he/she sends everyone in Phoenix a $5 bill.

And you can meet the Queen of Clean too, so you can ask how to get out those nasty stains? Yikes.

Sometimes it's just better to give up and start over somewhere else. Save yourself the jokes and reputation.

Everyone needs to chill out trying to troll a business doing something genuine to earn trust. Shit happens.

to me, the funniest part is that they're going to have "the Queen of Clean" as a guest!

I wonder if this Bill Mulligan guy (Federico's attny) is the same Mulligan who was REPEATEDLY disciplined by the AZ State Bar for ETHICS VIOLATIONS AND STEALING CLIENT'S MONEY recently??? His real first name is Clarence, his middle name is Bill or William. FUNNY HOW A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION / RESTARAUNT HIRES AN ATTORNEY WHO IS ALSO A CRIMINAL!!!!

I purposefully drive by this location twice a day (to & from work) and I stop in the parking lot and scare the hell out of potential customers.  I have run off dozens upon dozens of people from eating here, and have even posted leaflets on cars.  I hope this place gets sued into bankruptcy and the owners & employees all sent back to Mexico.

Hydrogen peroxide is used in hospitals to disinfect surfaces and it is used in solution alone or in combination with other chemicals as a high level disinfectant.  It is cheaper than Bleach and more effective, plus very few people have allergic reactions to it.  Simply clean the surface as normal, then coat with a fine spray of Hydrogen peroxide and white vinegar (from separate spray containers).  The resulting chemical reaction is called Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide.  Hydrogen peroxide is used in hospitals to disinfect surfaces and it is used in solution alone or in combination with other chemicals as a high level disinfectant.  It is safer for humans and the environment than bleach - and it is cheaper!  The Queen of Clean is grubby!

You all eat there FIRST and I'll let you know the next day if I'm willing to try it.

Should have just continued operations as usual and promoted it as the latest cleanse.

@Richard Uhl  --  Filthy place. Needs to be sued into bankruptcy. If you do not know what the cause was, how do you know that you corrected the situation? How do you know it won't happen again?

What happened took place over a LONG period of time, as so many people got sick over several weeks. This was not a one time "forgot to wash your hands" kinda of thing or a bad batch of salad dressing or meat. This poisoning took place over weeks and weeks. This is a systemic issue and the place needs to be shut down until an answer is given!!

@Mark Trollinger -- I sometimes drive without a seat belt, too, without a problem.  But when a problem happens, it will be a serious one.  So why take chances?  It's not like it's the only Mexican food place in town.  Just move on down the street to some place that has a better reputation.

@fred14nx05y

If you find an intersection where someone died in a car accident you should start a facebook page warning other people of the dangers of driving through that intersection.

I heard that a United Airlines plane was hijacked on 9/11/2001 and everyone onboard died.  You should warn people not to fly United.

You are more likely to die driving your car.  You should immediately stop driving and start warning other people of the danger of dying while in a car

@asdfasdf @fred14nx05y That's about the worst analogy ever. If you don't know why, you should turn off your computer and never use it again
