Mexican Hat is in Utah, not AZ.
Was this written by a journalism student? There could have been more detail on each of these towns, especially where they are located in AZ. One city gets three lines and another barely gets a sentence.
Pardon my Chinese, but how many times has this shit been posted ?
They forgot Two Guns
So-Hi, Arizona. Amazing.
The only worse than the names of these towns, is the article you guys have written and continue posting.
Efficiency is still over rated
Some of the names here are hilarious
I remember my grandparents saying Sohi was Native America Or Ancient Native American, but forget the translation,
As many of the towns originally stem from Native American or Spanish, I think its not fair for outsiders to make fun of our names. Especially with out the knowledge of Arizona history. Its in poor taste.
Can't you just put the whole story on one page instead of having to click 10 times. just sayin'!
Top-o-the-world was named that as it used to house a brothel.
Three Way, AZ? "nuff said ...
I'm going to have spend some time in So-Hi on my way to visit Three way Arizona..
you for got Mexican hat & valentine & ajo
Arizona city should have made the list, because it's barely even a settlement let alone a city. Being from ajo, I never knew why the why was named "why" until now.
Man.. I think this is like the fourth time I've seen this posted this month?
Gonna have to go with Three Way.
Actually, there's a town on the Tohono O'odham reservation called Kaka. I would have included that one.
How about 11 Mile Corner?
Agua Caliente. The hot springs dried up years ago.
Wagon Wheel isn't really a town it's more like a neighborhood. Doesn't have a zip code and it's in an unincorporated part of Navajo County between Show Low and Lakeside.
Intercourse, PA will always win.
Wittmann. haha -kidding
Nothing was abandoned? How sad. I have always loved the names of the places in Az. Crown King, Bumble Bee, Nothing, Bucket of Blood, Ahwatukee. Having our own bagdad was fun during Desert Shield. One of the radio stations kept one of their people there during the whole thing so they could report "live from Bagdad".
Miami made this list, really? There are cities and towns all over the state (and country) that are named after other cities. Hell, most of the city names in the US were originally taken from the settlers' previous homes.
I always thought if I wanted to be a cop, I would work in Surpise. "Suprise, POLICE!!" Suprise, SEARCH WARRANT!!" Be fun...he first coupel of times.
Was this a slow news day or what? And where's Youngtown? Ain't NOBODY young in that place - except the help.
On your way to Rocky Point , stop at the Flores & Sons Chevron in WHY and get you a red chili beef burrito.
When I moved to Arizona, the first town name to arouse my curiosity was Show Low. I know the story and I still think it's at least as weird as Surprise.
Worst Name in Arizona? Matthew Hendley (how original). Hendley is a wanna-be journalist that cannot climb any higher in journalism than the gutters of Phoenix New Times.
@Hock We know you to be a cop calling faggot
@HAHAHA The gutters huh?
How tall was the ladder you had to stand on to see him?
@shadeaux14 Go back to f****g your mom pu**y
