When I first started working for the Arizona Republic and the Phoenix Gazette, when they were real newspapers, I was in research......I would use AZ Place Names all the time. Great research tool.

One of the best names that used to be is Total Wreck, a mining camp in the Empire Mountains north of Sonoiita. Just ruins now. Another is Contention City, a mill town that processed Tombstone's silver, located on the San Pedro River. Also ruins. The best, and the name fits, is Paradise located on the east side of the Chiricahua Mountains in juniper and oak country. it's a semi-ghost town with a few permanent residents.

Apache Junction's a pretty cool name to these Scottish eyes.
