Should Chris Simcox Get a Plea Deal on His Molestation Charges?

Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery

The Feathered Bastard reports that it looks like former Minuteman/alleged child molester Chris Simcox is landing a plea deal on those kid-diddlin' charges.

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office may seem to hand out plea deals like candy on Halloween, but it seems like a cheap move to offer one to a guy who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with some power-players in the county, apparently including none other than County Attorney Bill Montgomery.

-Bill Montgomery's Ex-Ally Chris Simcox May Score Plea Deal in Child Molestation Case

Montgomery had apparently gone on at least one Minuteman patrol with Simcox, according to multiple accounts.

As videographer Dennis Gilman put it in the comments section of a blog post yesterday, "You offer a scumbag like Simcox a plea deal and over-charge undocumented parents for working with every (possible) thing you can throw at them." (See: Bill Montgomery Is No Immigration Moderate.)

Although the details of this plea agreement haven't been made public, it's already not looking good.

Do you think Simcox should get any deal from Montgomery's office?

gilman's quoted response is flawed as he is comparing apples to oranges.  Even the illegals he is screaming are being over charged are receiving plea deals.

MontyPug deserves to be recalled for his bullshit Candy Andy Thomas like antics.

I will award MontyPug credit for his military service though. He fought in Desert Storm and managed to get through a firefight without losing a single soldier under his command. That's the definition of a leader.

years ago they used to bail scumbags out of jail........and they are not seen again, until they find them in mountain lion poop!

If chemical castration is part of the deal, I could change my vote. Will he be registered as a serial sex offender?

Montgomery went on "Minute Man" patrols with this sick peice of Trash that is also Arpaio's Racist Pal.

Montgomery cuts Zero Slack to HARD WORKING Un-documented Hispanic Mothers of Legal Citizen Children,

If he "Cuts a Deal" with this Child Molesting Racist Peice of Trash, it speaks VOLUMES about Montgomery being worthless Racist Trash as well!

Keep up the Agenda Montgomery, you Bigotted Garbage.

You can bet your sweet ass that Monty is hoping and praying that Chris Simcox takes the deal. And that the tawdry details of his association with Simcox and other Minutemen doesn't get much play beyond PNT.

Arizona gives Perverts with Child Porn Ten Years for each image.

Arizona better treat this "Child Molester" that Molested his own Daughter, and two of her freinds accordingly!!!!

This is far worse than Child Porn!

No God Damn Deals!!!

Does it make you amateur if you can't actually spell the word "amateur"?

Here's a better example of an illogical fallacy that apparently Nick doesn't know the definition of. Apparently Nick hates illegal aliens more than he hates child molesters. See what I did there?

He was one of the main haters that's why.

I'm curious. Why the focus on use of the word 'minuteman' in the headlines and not a moment's thought about the (alleged) child molester part?

Let's see, hmmm. Will the victim(s) fare just as well in life? No. The answer is NO.

This was how every news station in the valley covered the story. So every media outlet in the valley is amateur too. Or maybe you just like bitching about nonsensical issues.

He should be offered the same deal that would normally be offered to any defendant in the same or similar situation.  As detestable as this character is, it would be a depravation of his right to due process to withhold a standard plea deal just because he knows or socialized with politicos.  There is certainly a stardard deal that MCAO authorizes its prosecutors to offer to defendants facing similar charges, equal protection under the law requires that he be offered the same deal along with the same mandatory prison sentence and nothing less but nothing more.

Brett Solesky

Apparently you didn't read the article, because he may receive a plea deal because he happens to be politically connected to Bill Montgomery. So YES his minuteman status may effect the plea deal, can't be any more true to journalism than that. I'm also curious as to why you seem to be trying to stick up for an accused child molester?

appeal to emotion You attempted to manipulate an emotional response in place of a valid or compelling argument. Appeals to emotion include appeals to fear, envy, hatred, pity, pride, and more. It's important to note that sometimes a logically coherent argument may inspire emotion or have an emotional aspect, but the problem and fallacy occurs when emotion is used instead of a logical argument, or to obscure the fact that no compelling rational reason exists for one's position. Everyone, bar sociopaths, is affected by emotion, and so appeals to emotion are a very common and effective argument tactic, but they're ultimately flawed, dishonest, and tend to make one's opponents justifiably emotional.

Being a .EDU addict is another fallacy. I know plenty of adults that went to college and came out mindless people who cannot think for themselves despite worshiping knowledge.

The question is stated in such a way that, because he's a minute man that somehow that should affect the outcome? If you can only understand truth based on who is saying it that is another issue in and of itself. Here is a 'educational' site. Says the same things, but since you can only take in truth based on who's saying it, I highly recommend that looking to the NewTimes for it might be it's own fallacy. http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/659/03/

Brett Solesky
Brett Solesky

You may want to actually find an educational website that defines what logical fallacies are and use that to help your attempt at you argument because there is nothing wrong with the question. Simcox is an ex Minuteman in fact he was the leader of the group and as the article on the website states is likely going to have the chance to receive a plea deal. So when you have facts supporting the question or headline it's absolutely correct in its use.

You have some major homework to do on that page about being professional and about reporting truth rather than just tacky emotion loaded posts.

as long as they over charge him with like 10-20 counts, plea it down to 1 or 2 and make sure he carries the full sentence on the charges he pleas to, why not?

a full ride on 1 plea should be like 15-20 yrs

And should illegal aliens get a plea deal to be released when they steal other peoples ID's to work here that is stealing American jobs?

The only pleading he should do is in prison, when he's pleading to be left alone.

No " plea deals " for maids  , dishwashers , landscapers because they are more dangerous , is that it ?

No.  If he is innocent then he needs to go to trial, if he is guilty he does not deserve a deal.

@Brett Solesky equal protection means equal.

like when they busted me at the lake with a joint, and threatened to take my home and car.(1989 forfeiture law.....bullshit!)

but when jim hartegen was busted for selling his vote in the state legislature (TREASON!)he was offered a plea deal, and got to keep his house!

like I said equal protection under the law

@car_del99 It's not about whether illegal aliens are more dangerous or not; it's all about that they not only broke the law by coming here, they broke the law by stealing ID's and American jobs.  Americans are flocking to Danny's to get jobs.

Robert, Republican presidents Grant and Reagan both signed amnesty laws. (Grant signed the Amnesty Act of 1872. Reagan's Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 granted amnesty to 3 million illegals)

Also, the first major immigration overhaul since the Alien and Sedition Act of 1798 was signed by a Republican president. It was the Immigration Act of 1903 and was signed by Republican president Theodore Roosevelt.

@robert_graham @car_del99 LMAO you wanna bet on that last assertion? I used to work there when i was in my teens over a decade ago..NOT ONE washer was white..NOT ONE..i doubt that will happen now. Most Americans think remedial work like working in the line at a car wash is beneath them.
