The 65-year-old has been on the run for a while -- and may possibly now be in the Philippines. He's 6-foot-2, weighs 230 pounds and has gray hair and blue eyes. He was born in Myrtle Point, Oregon, and has a scar on his right knee and right wrist.
Sometime before February 2004, the FBI reports that McCool allegedly conspired with two other individuals, who have since been arrested, to operate The Brixon Group Ltd., which fraudulently solicited millions of dollars from the public.
McCool got individuals to invest approximately $10 million in Brixon by making misleading them about how the money would be used, the rates of return, the security of the investments, and his own qualifications to conduct such investments.
Instead of investing the money, he allegedly pocketed a substantial portion of it for himself and used new funds to make payments to earlier investors.
The United States District Court for the Southern District of California issued an arrest warrant for McCool on May 11, 2006. He's charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud.
