Maricopa County Mugshots of the Week: Showing Off

mugs.jpg

At the end of the week, we bring you a roundup of visitors to the desert's own Fourth Avenue Jail. To be considered for our Maricopa County mugshots of the week, get arrested, strike a pose, and we'll take care of the rest.

This week, all of our alleged offenders are showing off something. Enjoy.

Charges: Dangerous-drug possession, narcotic-drug possession, evidence tampering, possession of a weapon in a drug offense, using a building for drug manufacturing, and more
Well, that's sad. Don't get so down on yourself, tiger.

I bet if you made an article about the 10 best articles by Matthew Hendley they would all be titled: "The ten best....". How unoriginal, Matthew. How unoriginal.

Hey Matthew, how is MCSO better than your mugshots of the week blog here at PNT?  MCSO only posts mugshots for 72 hours and then takes them down.  When you post a mugshot with a pithy comment its available on the web forever.  So MCSO's punishment by public humiliation only lasts for 3 days but your punishment by public humiliation is permanent.   I never thought I'd say this, but MCSO actually has one up on you.

That last fella looks like the guy who passed out early at the party.

@YPS.  Haven't seen you all week.  Glad you could show up for the Friday stockades in the village square.

Looking at photo no. 4 - kind of makes me wonder if he was goaded into making a silly face like Marty Atencio was right before your colleagues in the Jail beat him to death.  What was it you said about Mary Rose WIlcox - "I believe all our elected officials should be held accountable."  Tell me exactly how Sheriff Arpaio or anyone in his organization has been held accountable in the beating that led to Atencio's death?  And, more importantly, what have you, as an insider, done this week to hold Sheriff Arpaio accountable for anything?  Or is it that when you say that elected officials should be held accountable you just don't mean held accountable by you personally?

And Matthew, you should be embarrassed.  You have to believe or at least suspect that the jailers goaded no. 4 into making a silly face just like they did with Atencio.  It's like you haven't read a single fucking word that your colleague Stephen Lemons has written.  And Stephen Lemons you should be both embarassed and angry because while you are fighting the good fight your colleague Matthew is sucking at Sheriff Arpaio's tit.

@JohnQ.Public If you were to be honest about Atencio you'd not negate the presence, initiation and participation of Phoenix Police Officers in the melee with Atencio.  But that wouldn't fit into your charade.

Speaking of accountability; please provide the evidence supporting your irresponsible conclusion that Atencio was beaten to death...as nothing in the ME report or the video of Atencio's processing supports such a wildly libelous claim from one who professes to be a practicing attorney.

I am not beholden to your sanctimonious claptrap and have no need to provide evidence of my battles with the Administration in pursuit of professionalism and accountability within my workstation.

I like your fallacious dart at divide and conquer in your pathetic attempt to shame hendley in your weekly temper tantrum.

@JohnQ.Public You feel that me holding you to task is somehow a personal attack.  You attempt to frame the context of the argument in a direction that supported your claim.

I can agree that we disagree with the harm these mugshot blogs cause.  I will forgo continuing any comments reference your disdain for the Mugshot threads in an attempt to quell needless angst between us on a subject we clearly cannot agree.

@YPS  Attempts to discredit you on a personal level?  Isn't that what posters do here?  Isn't that what you wrote last Friday:  "@JohnQ.Public I have no need of defending the mugshot mantra. I am more interested in holding you to task for your 'position' and the manner in which you have chosen to frame yourself..."

All I'm doing is "holding you to task for your 'position'."   I'm not real fond of using blogs like these for personal attacks - I'd much rather debate positions than engage in personal attacks but you told me last week - that's not what posters do here.  Right?  You want to go back to debating positions - I'm all for it, just let me know.

@JohnQ.Public

Show me a case where a law enforcement officer was convicted in an excite delerium case and perhaps we can continue this angle...or maybe you could provide to us the description of the person who delivered the blow that killed Atencio since your viewing of the video is how you've concluded Atencio was beaten to death...

I wonder why there isn't someone dying every week during MMA fights or boxing matches or football games, or wrestling tournaments, as all of these activities provide significantly more violent strikes to the human body than that of Marty Atencio...

@JohnQ.Public I especially like how you opine salaciously whilst condemning others.

Today is a day off for me, not that it is any of your business. Like other Friday's, I am here on my own time. Perhaps you can share the reasoning behind your attempts to discredit me on a personal level with haphazard claims. Coincidentally, I have my own computer and internet service which I use in order to browse and sometimes post...but thanks for asking. I guess the same could be asked of you. After all it is a weekday and it's during normal business hours. One could conclude you are stealing from your company by posting here during work hours.

@YPS  I guess you missed the part of the ME's letter that ascribed the cause of death, in part, to "LAW ENFORCEMENT SUBDUAL" [emphasis in original].  That, coupled with my personal opinion after watching the available video and yeah, my personal opinion is that Atencio was beaten to death and the "LAW ENFORCEMENT SUBDUAL" was, again in my opinion, a likely cause of the "CARDIAC ARREST".  So I guess "nothing in the ME report" suggests that "LAW ENFORCEMENT SUBDUAL" could have at all been, at least in part, responsible for Atencio's death.

Good to see you're blogging at 9:00 in the morning.  Are you at work today? Are you on County time?  Just curious.

And again, I'm just curious here, if you are at work and possibly using a work computer, as an employee of the county government are you creating a record that must be retained and made available under the state's public record law?  Again, just curious, but I wonder what your take on that might be?
