Jan Brewer Claims to Have Had a "Positive" Meeting With President Obama

Governor Jan Brewer

From what we can tell, Governor Jan Brewer didn't do anything obnoxious to the President of the United States today.

It appears that the governor avoided embarrassing the state's residents again, by choosing to keep her finger away from President Obama's face on this occasion.

Brewer's spokesman said yesterday that the governor was going to be at Sky Harbor Airport this morning "to welcome President Obama back to Arizona."

Brewer's staff tweeted around noon, "Met with @BarackObama this morning about federal assistance for the #YarnellFire, he assured me he would look into it. Meeting was positive."

For verification, we took a look at some of the press pool photos -- all of them show Brewer behaving, although you can't tell exactly what she was saying, of course.

However, it looks like we're all going to be free from national humiliation for the day.

The only positive meeting GED Jan has is with her daily bottle of scotch.

I so love how the political wind is blowing now a days! The GOP is in disarray, turning into cannibals dining on one another with gusto! The tea party reminds me of them old corny Frankenstein movies where the creator cobbled together dead things/ideas to create a creature who in the end turns on its creator and destroys its own master and creator! Dick Army might play the part as Dr. Frankenstein with his financial backers the Koch brothers in the background as directors of the movie!;-)

WELL SHE SHOULD HAVE NOT LET HIM LAND HIS GODDAM PLANE HERE IN ARIZONA!!  THAT ILLUMINATI DEVIL SHOULD HAVE JUST KEPT ON FLYING TO LIBERALFORNIA AND NOT STEPPED ONE GODDAMED STEP IN THIS STATE.  PISSES ME OFF.

She was spouting gibberish, of course. All that booze has killed billions of her brain cells. She'd be much more aware of everything going on around her if she'd smoked a joint this morning.

To her meeting briefly is an important meeting.  No doubt she will put her "conferences" with Presidents on her resume.

Glad she decided to behave herself and not embarrass the state...of course she wanted something from the evil FEDERAL GOVT that she professes to hate, except when she doesn't and wants money....that, and she's not trying to sell a book anymore. Can't wait for the day I don't have to see her face or hear her name uttered in polite company.

Well I'm positive. Ross Perot was wrong. That "giant sucking sound" isn't coming from Mexico.

@HILLFOLKREDNECK And Hallelujah you have the right to SAY it. I'm even more thankful that saying it is what you are limited to doing about it, except for voting... and Obama's not going to be seeking your vote anytime in the foreseeable future.

God Bless you. :)

@desertflower

Why do you assume for a moment that she doesn't hate the feds just because she's asking for a fair share of disaster relief funds?   Didn't you ever have to ask a boss you hate to reimburse you for some business expense?

@jonnyquest HAHAHAH. And all the while she's making that giant sucking sound and shouting Yowza! Yowza! Yowza!

There is something fundamentally inconsistent in bashing the federal government everytime she has the opportunity to do so and then asking for things from that very same entity.  Its one thing to talk constructively about reforming the federal government, but that is not what she does - she outright criticizes it as evil.  Yes, as Arizonans we have a right to receive our fair share of distribution of federal funds, from disaster relief to highway funds and it would not be inconsistent to talk constructively about reform while asking for those dollars.  It is inconsistent to talk about the federal government they way she does but than ask for things from it.

Maybe you haven't been paying attention these last few years. Let's get one thing straight. I think that those firefighters deserve everything. Their wives and families deserve to have security in their lives after this tragedy, but you can't have things both ways when it suits you. Seems like I'm not the only person to see this. Open YOUR eyes.

@JohnQ.Public  well in my opinion, there would be a few "knife point rapist" victims that would have been glad if Jan had gotten an abortion, and many many more who would have been glad if Jan's mother had gotten one

@valleynative   This is also not a great analogy.  There is a very different relationship between you and your insurance company than  -say - a politician and the rest of the world.   A closer analogy would be for a politician that screams and hollars that abortion should be outlawed and then obtains one for an unwanted pregnancy.  Or screams and hollars that  AR-15s should be outlawed but then gets seen at a gun store buying one (yes, you know the person I'm alluding to).  But even those aren't perfect analogies.

If she was asking for a favor, you might have a point, but federal disaster funds are not a "favor".

If I call my insurance company lying thieves, is it then inconsistent behavior to ask them to pay a claim?

@desertflower

Are you responding to me?  Nothing that you've said has anything at all to do with anything I've said.
