The Yarnell Hill Fire that killed 19 firefighters almost a week ago is now 80 percent contained.

That last 20 percent of containment isn't expected to be easy, though, as the estimated date of containment is a week from now, on July 12.

There are still 500-plus firefighters battling the blaze, but according to the latest update from fire officials, "Overall firebehavior should continue to diminish due to fuels being consumed."

The caveat to that is, according to the update, "The decreased relative humidity and increased drying could cause more erratic fire behavior."

While the 8,400-acre fire has kept people out of their homes in Peeples Valley and Yarnell for some time now, the evacuation for some residents of Peeples Valley has been lifted. However, if you've seen aerial footage of the neighborhoods almost completely wrecked by the fire, a fair amount of people will not have a home to return to when all is said and done.

"Firefighters will continue work on the two remaining areas of active fire," the update on the firefighting plan says. "Firefighters will also support initial attack in the area as needed."

Utility companies are also out in the area, working to restore services as people go back to their homes.

The Dean Peak Fire, a 5,200-acre blaze that is burning 10 miles southeast of Kingman, is now 25 percent contained.

The good news is that this fire is nearly extinguished.

The bad news is that it cost the lives of 19 heroic firefighters to get it nearly extinguished.

May the Lord Jesus Christ watch over the firefighters souls for all eternity.
