Jan Brewer Praised for Endorsing Immigration Bill, Which She Didn't Actually Endorse

Despite what you may have heard, Governor Jan Brewer did not endorse the "Gang of Eight" immigration-reform bill.

However, it certainly may have sounded like she endorsed the bill, given her apparent inability to speak clearly.

Brewer hit up Fox News on Monday and was asked whether she thinks "what we're seeing now in the Senate" on immigration is good or bad.

"I think that what we're seeing taking place in the Senate is a victory for Arizona," Brewer responded.

That led to a lot of people being confused and produced headlines such as "Brewer Backs Senate Immigration Bill: 'Victory for Arizona'" (National Review), "Jan Brewer: Senate Immigration Bill 'Victory for Arizona'" (ABC News), and "Jan Brewer: Immigration Bill 'A Victory for Arizona'" (Huffington Post).

Arizona's Republican Senators, John McCain and Jeff Flake, were glad to hear it and praised Brewer for taking that stance.

Brewer has since clarified that what she said was not what she meant.

After Brewer said it's a "victory," she added, "I'm glad that they finally decided to talk about the border surge that we've called out for since, um, 2010, asking them to take control of our border -- operational control."

That's what the "victory" was, which wasn't clear, since she spouted off an answer to a question that wasn't really asked.

Brewer was saying the victory was an amendment to spend $38 billion adding more border agents and fencing, which hadn't even been voted on at the time.

"For the record, I have not endorsed the Gang of 8 #immigration bill," Brewer's press squad posted on Twitter. "I am supportive of the border surge element of the Corker amendment. Border security MUST come first as part of any bill. #immigration."

Brewer's spokesman also issued a press release, further explaining Brewer's non-endorsement.

So, not only did Brewer not endorse the bill, this is apparently what it takes to figure out what she's talking about.

Read the Senate bill if you don’t understand it or ask somebody who does? But not even most of the Senate had time to examined it, before passing this amendment. First, it doesn’t say that the biggest trigger, that the fence is double-layer parallel fencing of 350 miles, but then we are lied to because only 14 miles fencing have really been constructed. The worst part of the bill gives full authority to that nasty Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, who smirked why being questioned at the Judiciary Mark-up. The demented brain-dead women said the border was secure. Nothing in the bill says that illegal aliens gaining a temporary work visa must wait until the stringent enforcement triggers are in place. That even criminal gang members can get clemency and illegal aliens who have already been deported can return. The whole bill has been nothing but a travesty and although the Democrats and their co-conspirators have hustled this bill through the full Senate and the “Surge” amendment, it must still be given credence in the House? Another thing about this 11 million to likely 30 million people getting a more or less free pass, is that can challenge citizens and residents with their cheap labor and employers will be able to hire them.

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has launched a national petition. It is at SecureBordersNow.com,” Cruz said. “In just a week, we’ve had 100,000 people from all over the country sign that petition speaking out to say ‘Do not do legalization first. Secure the borders first, fix the problem.” ?

Also Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas has set up an email address for people to contact if they believe they were targeted by the IRS. That address is: IRSTarget@Cruz.Senate.gov. A petition seeking to abolish the Internal Revenue Service recently started by the American Center for Law and Justice and since moved to its own website http://www.abolishirsnow.com. The time has gone to eradicate the IRS and deliver to the American taxpayer a Fair tax code, which allows no exemptions for anybody including welfare for corporations.

I see she dares not breathe a word about the Gang's proposal's effect on US born workers (the "affirmative action" for non-citizens price tag) or the facts that proposed border security measures would not take place until 2017 or 2021 or the myriad extra provisions including free "Obamacars" for young workers.  Nothing about how the whole immigration reform plan is designed as a huge gift to multi-national corporations destined to break the back of this nation in every way imaginable.

Brewer: "I think what we're seeing taking place in the Senate is a victory for Arizona."

This is because Brewer is a Whore for Federal Dollars.

It has nothing to do with ending Five Harsh Years of Human Suffering of Millions including Millions of U.S. Citizen Family Members of un-documented People, Incarceration of Tens of Thousands, Families ripped apart, Tens of Thousands of legal Citizen Children with out Parents, and in U.S. Foster Care, or the Forty-two Thousand Deported Dead Immigrants now laying at the I.C.E. Dumping Grounds where they were Mass Dumped with out even water into the Harsh Desert at the U.S. Mexico Border into a known "Drug War" to be killed or to Die of the Elements!

Brewer is all about Money!

Choose the Right you Racist Witch.

J.T. is waiting to see you in the end.

There is Far More to being a True American than just Magic Federal Dollars Jan.

To: "Good".

She didn't yet know what she thought of it as Chuck Coughlin and her staff hadn't yet advised her.

You know, though, ever time I make fun of how stupid she seems to be I become even more embarassed that she is the governor of my state.  How does someone this stupid make it this far in politics (rhetorical question - I understand the answer)?

She never endorsed 1070 either.  All she did was sign it when it got to her desk, yet the idiot voters re-elected her for her tough stance on immigration.

@DNichols I would like to learn more about this 42,000.  Can you direct me please?

@DNichols

This is because the federal government is taking on more responsibility for keeping illegals out.

Keeping illegals out will prevent all that heartbreak when they're caught and sent back where they belong, leaving little support burdens behind for the taxpayers to care for.

@JohnQ.Public A better question would be- how stupid does a population have to be to allow somebody like Stinky Finger Jan to "make it this far in politics?"

@sarum:

These are the numbers of Dead along the Border as reported by the Media since the January 2008 start of the Hitleresque I.C.E. Deportation Program Dumped Hundreds of Thousands of Human Beings into a known "Drug War" with nothinig, not even water into Massively overburdened Border Towns where in fact Tens of Thousands of Deported un-documented Immigrants Died or were Killed.

Simple Facts.

The Massive Deaths began, and have slowed with the numbers being Deported/Dumped!

Perhaps you should try dumping your self into these Border Towns with nothing, then report on your findings if you survive one night?!!

Research it for yourself Sarum please?

P.S. We Americans can spend Hundreds of Billions to fight Wars to liberate People that actually Hate us, yet we treat good People in our "Homeland" as less than dogs!

This must change!

I agree with controlling our Borders (Plural)

However after thirty years of not controlling the Borders, even after our Border Patrol used to maintain water stations in the Harsh Desert as a Humanitairian effort to keep Border crossers from dying, and recruiting illegal Farm, and Construction Labor for nearly thirty years, we as "Americans" should deal with the "Reality" of this complicated situation in strict Accordance to our "True American Principles, and Values"!

These Principles, and Values do not include Ripping Parents, even Mothers from thier legal Citizen Children/Babies, or Dumping Hundreds of Thousands to Die in the Desert as we have done!

Wake up America.

"America is great because it is good, when it ceases to be good, it ceases to be great."

Alex De Tocqueville

This explains why the Great Recession began at the exact same time as the I.C.E. Deportation/Incarceration Programs in January 2008.

Period.

I accept my ignorance and always trying to learn more so thanks for no insults.  Just I disagree with supposedly unintended consequence of immigration reform puts jobless US born even further to back of line of having chance at life - rendering the birthright of US born meaningless should be realized as warning to newcomers.  Cannot allow contemporary spin and sentiment to make blinders on the eyes as to the true nature of the beast.   As stated in past, children of Reagan amnesty also many burdened with student loan debt they cannot pay due to jobs outsourced - we have such a mess to sort out.  It does not mean they are lesser people or inferior as some here like to infer - perhaps it means they simply did not have the connections to get one of the few positions available = perhaps they are superior in skill and inferior in schmoozing . . .

@DNichols Oh I have spent much time in border town and some family still there.   I have familia that refuse to cross the line and others who live across the line intermittently . . .  Just wondering if you have collated these figures yourself or if there are sites I can go to learn . . . or if like most of the crimes nobody knows nothing, nobody sees nothing, nobody hears nothing, no media dares investigate claiming no budget  . . . for example if you let your fingers do the walking with google images for the pink crosses of Ciudad Juarez you can find many images with many articles not all repetitive . .

Interesting how the trial took place in Chile . . . we here in US think so highly of ourselves . . .

Yes there is a real war going on, not the one in the news but I think that many US born are also treated as dogs and I think that in a jobless recovery the birthright of US born - whose families bled and died for the corporate freedom to rape pillage & plunder - they should get first chance at domestic employment.

@DNichols Nonsense.  Every nation deports people who enter illegally, except those who simply throw them in jail until their families ransom them back.

The consequences to themselves and their families lies entirely on those who broke the law.

If there is anything preventing America from being great, it's the near universal failure to take responsibility for the consequences of our own choices.
