10 Meth-iest Crimes (Allegedly) Committed by Arizona Meth-Heads
Benyamin's latest outburst occurred last week, as he threw his girlfriend to the ground, and delivered blows to her face, head, and body, according to the documents.
The woman tried to protect her 5-year-old son, who has a different father, as she held the boy on the couch in their apartment -- near 43rd and Glendale avenues -- but Benyamin managed to punch him in the head and arm, the documents state.
The abuse of the cats wasn't covered in great detail in a court filing, and Benyamin wasn't charged with any animal-abuse crimes, but his girlfriend later told police that he abuses them "regularly."
During Benyamin's attack last week, his girlfriend managed to bang on the wall to a neighboring apartment, and scream for help. The neighbor was able to take in the woman and her child, but Benyamin burst into the neighbor's apartment and tried to pull out his girlfriend by her hair, according to the documents.
The neighbor called 911, but Benyamin took off in his neighbor's car. Police returned the next day and found him hiding in a closet in his apartment.
According to court filings, Benyamin was just released from prison in December and has been on parole since then. He has prior arrests for burglary, theft, domestic violence, criminal damage, and disorderly conduct. According to court documents, he was convicted of "all of the above."
In this case, Benyamin was booked into jail on one felony count and three misdemeanors.
