Top Eight Reasons Why Nobody Should Vote for Andrew Thomas for Governor in 2014

Andrew Thomas is running for governor. Here are our eight top reasons why he shouldn't get a single vote.
Andrew Thomas followed up on last year's rumor that he might run for governor with an official announcement today.

Knowing that anything's possible in Arizona, the so-called meth lab of democracy, we thought we'd put out this helpful voting guide.

So, without further ado, we offer you our best eight reasons why you'd have to be nuts to vote for Thomas:

See also: Andrew Thomas, Disbarred and Disgraced Ex-Prosecutor, Is Actually Running for Governor

8. Two words: Cuckoo, cuckoo. When we heard he'd announced, we grew more worried than ever for his mental health. Powerful evidence he's lost it: Thomas said he believes a survey would show he's the most popular candidate among voters for the 2014 election. Since his disbarment, Thomas has been known to bring a piece of lumber to interviews like he thinks he's Buford Pusser.

thomas walking tall.JPG
7. He's a loser. Sure, Thomas won two elections to become county attorney, in 2004 and 2008. But his political career is better defined by his losses. Thomas blew a bid for Arizona attorney general in 2002, failing to win against Democrat Terry Goddard. Seeing that his political career was on shaky ground following his legal abuses from 2008-2010, Thomas resigned from his office in April of 2010 and launched another campaign for state attorney general. It was close, but he lost to Tom Horne. A couple of years later, Thomas lost the biggest the fight of his life -- for his law license. Thomas didn't even bother to appeal the state's decision to disbar him.

6. Thomas is a Harvard-educated moron. You know what we mean -- he's book-smart and very well-educated, but without a lick of common sense. Why did he think launching a dirty attack on a newspaper that criticized him (this one) would be a good idea? Of course he ended up making a public apology for that one. Stoo-pid!

5. Thomas has displayed a severe lack of judgment in picking his allies. He put a great deal of his trust in Dave Hendershott, Sheriff Arpaio's ultra-shady former chief deputy, who told others that Thomas was an "idiot."

thomas chunk of wood.jpg
4. Maricopa County voters have long though of themselves as "tough on crime." Thomas, an ideologue who once wrote a book on crime that suggested a return to public stockades, took the concept to abusive ends. He failed to make plea deals when appropriate, threw the book at nearly everyone and brought criminal charges when none were warranted. "He horrendously overcharged cases," says Valley lawyer Marc Victor. Back in 2007, Victor represented a woman who's brother loaded a gun without the woman's knowledge, leading to an accident in which the woman grazed her daughter with a bullet. Thomas' office wanted the woman convicted for a designated "dangerous" offense that would have given her mandatory prison time, even though the daughter hadn't wanted to press charges.

Keep in mind, there are people in the race who are not career politicians and who owe the party-line nothing. At least one of us who refuses to play politics and albeit has skeletons in the closet (you'd need to read the free download of Mealer Initiative 2014 from http://jlmealer.com to learn about them), is running for the sole purpose of saving Arizona's economy and reviving our "career" force (workforce). Everything is clearly spelled out in the booklet.

Anyhow, I hope this offers a ray of hope that Arizona does have a legit choice come November 2014... John L Mealer.

TRUTH IS ALL YOU BASH HIM BUT THE ONLY REASON YOU DO IS BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT HE STANDS FOR. TOO BAD!

"2. Thomas is dishonest. He's a disgrace to the legal profession. He's a liar. He's a perjurer. He's a corrupt politician and grand-stander. He's incompetent. He's vindictive. He's a bad lawyer, in general. And that's just what the legal panel that disbarred him had to say about him. Some folks think he's even worse.

1. His misguided sense of "justice" and inability to play nice with others has cost Maricopa County many millions of dollars. The financial damage he could cause to the state if put in an even more powerful position could run into the billions. Just today, the Board of Supervisors voted to approve a hefty, $1.4 million settlement to more of the victims of Thomas and Arpaio's ill-fated political schemes. As we noted in a blog post about the settlement, Arizona simply could not afford Thomas as governor."

NOT TO MENTION: ANDREW THOMAS' over 200,000 FELONY CASES (one term in office, 2005-2009). The long term damage from the destruction of lives -- the innocent, wrongfully convicted, wrongfully imprisoned, over-charged is incalculable. Damage that will last not only lifetimes but generations. A shameful legacy for Andrew Thomas, his chief "charging" prosecutor, Lisa Aubuchon, and his blogging-for-convictions queen, ex-DCA Rachel Alexander and the Maricopa County Attorney's office, which is carrying on the tradition, under politician Bill Montgomery.

Andrew's wooden friend, 'Plank', has a best chance of being elected Governor than this disgraced clown attorney.

Joe Arpaio Fan  -   Ok I concede he will get 1 vote, yours, and Bush graduated also, and look what he accomplished - OMG what a legacy he has left, and by the way our President   graduated from Columbia University in '83 with a political science degree. In '91 he graduated from Harvard Law school. OH and yes he is an American citizen too, just in case you missed the memo

Pick one of eight -  they are all legitimate reasons not to support or vote for Andrew Thomas, and do not forget Bennett - he lost his credibility by running with the tea party nuts, supporting the birther theory, and several other things -- these people are out there folks, it is up to us all to ferret them out and not be swayed by the inevitable flip flop and promises of campaign season --  time to DeKook Arizona from Congress through the State Legislators, Governors office, and City and County offices too  VOTE 2014 & 2016

A common political equation; a candidate needs money to run for office and the money people or political parties usually back candidates that have a potential to win. Where does Andy Thomas think he is going to get campaign money? From Arpaio, Hendershott, Lisa Aubochon, Rachael Alexander, Dennis Wilenchik?

Thomas can bemoan that the "forces of evil" caused him to be disbarred but the facts are that he choose the wrong battles with innocent people and lost. Even other County Attorney's told Thomas that his cases no legal merit to them ( the cases) and he should drop them.

Tom Horne, Ken Bennett and perhaps John Huppenthal are positioning themselves for a run at Governor. Thomas is at best a "D" list candidate in this group. Even Joe Arpaio, Thomas' former BFF, ran away from Thomas after he was disbarred. Can you say, Andy Thomas the public pariah

The problem in Arizona is the default aura is insanity.  Andrew (I hear voices) Thomas, Trent Franks, Judy Burgess, Sylvia Allen, Joe Arpaio, Steve Smith, Baboon, Al (Delusion) Melvin, Candy Andy Lite,  the Ninth Floor Occupant, (scary day when she makes sense).  And in all this insanity anything could happen, just ask Governor Burton Barr.

These 8 reasons are reasons why he should be elected.

8)  CUCKOO, HARDLY!  You say he is cuckoo because you don't like what he stands for.  Some would say that the candidates you choose however are the cuckoo ones.

7)  NOT A LOSER.  He's a loser in your eyes because you don't like him so it's to be expected that you would call him that.  The real truth however is that your candidates are the losers because they obviously pander to illegal aliens.

6) HE'S WELL EDUCATED!  Being a graduate from Harvard is hardly a reason to criticize. I wonder what college or university Obama graduated from, if at all.

5) THOMAS HAS A GOOD SENSE OF JUDGEMENT and he picked his allies well. You just say otherwise because you don't like him.  But on a different note, look at all the idiot allies Obama appointed - real losers!

4) THOMAS FAILED TO MAKE PLEA DEALS because those plea deals were inappropriate.  Yes, Maricopa County voters are and should be tough on crime.

3) POLICIES AGAINST ILLEGAL ALIENS IS NOT BIGOTRY.  It's called enforcing the law!  What part about the word ILLEGAL don't you understand?  You call him a bigot because you want somebody that will turn a blind-eye on illegal immigration.

2) THOMAS IS FAR FROM DISHONEST. It is a lie to say otherwise.  Again, you have blasted him because you don't like what he stands for.

1) THOMAS HAS A GOOD SENSE OF JUSTICE.  It is the frivolous lawsuits that have cost the county money, not him.  One good example of a frivolous lawsuit was the Marty Atencio case.

So, as you can see there's every reason to vote for Thomas. Either Thomas will be voted in or Jan will win another term.

http://freestudents.blogspot.com/2007/01/prosecutor-tries-to-force-teenage-boy.html

SATURDAY, JANUARY 13, 2007    Prosecutor tries to force teenage boy to register as sex offender for showing Playboy magazine to a friend."ABC News tells the horrifying story of the legal assault on the life of 16-year-old Matthew Bandy.

He is described as a pretty typical 16-year-old who never got into trouble -- well maybe not so typical after all. Maybe above average.

Police burst into the Bandy home accusing the boy of possessing child pornography. If found guilty he could have been sentenced to prison for life! Each image in one’s possession could lead to 10 years in prison consecutively. In most Western countries owning 10 images are considered one offense but in the U.S. it is 10 separate crimes.

Matthew’s mother, Jeannie, says when the police first attacked the house she thought “someone’s trying to break in our house. And then there were police officers with guns pointed at me, telling me to get downstairs.” This is exactly how innocent people, and not so innocent cops, get killed."

ConcernedCitizenAZ
ConcernedCitizenAZ topcommenter

Lest we forget... The "troika-prosecutors": SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2007 They couldn't win in court so they smear a teen in the press. The Matt Bandy case returns.

"I have posted extensively on the attack by the Maricopa County Attorney’s office on teenager Matt Bandy. You can read our posts herehere and here. If you know nothing about the case you will need to read these before this makes sense.
"
Our report was picked up by Wendy McElroy on Foxnews.com. She ran a very critical article on the case of her own. ABC News ran some very critical material including a rambling interview with Country Attorney Andrew Thomas where he bumbled his way through with nary a coherent sentence. All the bad publicity is hurting his political ambitions so out comes one of his lackeys to defend his reputation.

Rachel Alexander is the deputy county attorney In Maricopa, which is basically Phoenix, Arizona. That means she works for Thomas, who is basing his political ambitions on a reputation of being a hard ass. Well, he’s half right at least!

Alexander has written a long, deceitful attack on those who question the actions of Thomas and his department (her department too). This is no longer a legal matter. The case is over and Thomas didn’t get what he wanted. Matt Bandy is not in jail. Matt Bandy is not a registered sex offender."

LMAO Jaffy he's a loser.

Thrice-disgraced, corrupt, narcissistic and mentally sick Thomas has a nice ring to it.

8) Thomas is a delusional POS.

7) THREE-TIME LOSER

6) Being well-educated doesn't mean squat when he wipes his ass with the Constitution.

5) Thomas' sense of judgment was based on disgraced former MCSO chief deputy Dave Henderbulk. Who correctly noted that Thomas is an idiot.

4) Thomas, as the CA, has enormous discretion when offering plea deals. He should know when to cut his losses.

3) Enforcing laws designed solely to intimdate and humiliate someone because of race means Thomas wipes his ass with the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.

2) Thomas' own actions have proven to be dishonest. That's why he lost his law license for 5 years.

1) Thomas' sense of justice is as warped as your pea-sized brain.

BTW, didn't you say MontyPug would be the next governor?

@MaskedMagician1967 @JoeArpaioFan Look at my comment on that article.  That is simply propaganda.  By the way, what victims are you talking about?  Oh you must mean illegal aliens are victims? Actually that's not true and it's like saying that it should be against the law to arrest drug dealers and bank robbers. How about calling rapists who are arrested victims too?  You see, those who break the law cannot claim their arrest and prosecution makes them a victim.

robert_graham

@MaskedMagician1967 @JoeArpaioFan There is nothing in the Constitution that gives illegal aliens rights.  But yes, Jan can run again and she will.  If she couldn't run by law she wouldn't have announced her intention to run.

Robert has a wacky little web site, playing on the respect arizona group. His is respectarizona.info.

It's a laugh riot, since it started out as a web page with info only (granted BS info), then went through several versions as a blog/forum site.

But Robert could not handle it that the only people visiting were people ragging on him and his comments, so he took down the blog/forum software and now it's just some very poorly put together web pages (a 2yr old can do better) with Roberts rantings and links.

On the bottom of the 2nd page he has a petition linked, the petition is demanding the media call illegals "illegal aliens' instead of 'undocumented immigrants' - he has a grand total of 5 signatures, including himself - although I would bet the other 4 are him as well.

Flyer9753
Flyer9753 topcommenter

@JoeArpaioFan

"There is nothing in the Constitution that gives illegal aliens rights"

Actually there is, since they are HUMAN and there are several places in the constitution that speak about HUMAN rights.

Go back and read it again Robert, this time read the real one, not the version you made up and scrawled on the bathroom wall at BK.

As too Jan - if she couldn't she wouldn't have announced- announcements are not bound by law, she can announce anything she wants, just like you announce things that are known to not be true - hell your website is a collection of fake announcements.

She cannot run and the courts will tell her that shortly when she actually makes her announcement official with the registrar and then get's sued by the people who are just waiting for her to attempt to re-write the Arizona Constitution.
