John McCain's Approval Rating Is 26 Percent

Senator John McCain
Senator John McCain is doing a pretty good job, according to hardly anyone.

That's according to a poll from Behavior Research Center, which says McCain's 26 percent approval rating among Arizonans is the lowest level in 21 years.

Even worse (for McCain, at least), a full 21 percent of Arizonans think McCain deserves another term.

Compare that to back in 2005, when McCain had a 73 percent approval rating. By January 2006, it was 62 percent. Then it hit 50 percent in January 2007.

You may see where this is going. McCain hit 40 percent in January 2010, and 33 percent just one year ago.

It's kind of depressing that it wasn't that long ago that a whole lot of people in this country wanted McCain to be president of the United States.

In a press release from the Behavior Research Center, the pollsters say this poll was done "[e]ven before his recent vote in support of legislation to strengthen background checks for gun buyers," suggesting that it would have been even worse had they started off asking people about McCain this week.

Meanwhile, 36 percent of Americans believe aliens have been taking trips to Earth.

All the poll information (on McCain, not the aliens) can be found here.

All these years of being a hypocrite, his hateful policies, his desire for wars, bombings, killings, and invasions.  His tax cuts for the super wealthy, large corporations, even those who ship their jobs overseas. All on the backs of the poor, disadvantage, sick, working poor, middle class and elderly has finally caught up to him Being owned by the Defense and Oil Industries doesn't help McCain either. McCain is exactly what's wrong with today's GOP, a bitter, hateful, narrow minded old white man.

John has clearly become senile.  He needs to retire before the stupid things he says start to equal the stupidity of Jan Brewer.

Did they ask what percent of voters think that John McCain may be an alien.  That would tie it all together ncely.

I can not his rating is that high! All his lies, racism and warmongering speeches have caught up to the old guy.  John McCain is himself exactly what's wrong with today's GOP. An old bitter, hateful, white guy!

If youre only voting for something because you know you arent running for re-election, its not brave. Voting for something you believe in, despite the costs if you are running would be brave. Also, any points he gets for that plummet into the negative with his stance on the Boston bombing.

He also has 100% approval by his only true constituent, Meet The Press.

Sadly, he's better than his colleague Flake.

I pretty much knew that his YES vote on the gun bill meant he wasn't running for re-election. He knew it was going to be political suicide, but he was brave enough to go for it. I applaud him for that.

I've actually been impressed with the return of "The Maverick" recently. I approve of him thumbing his nose at the kooky Arizona conservatives now that he has signaled that he may actually retire in 2016. Good job, John!
