Is a "Broken Arm" Really What Kept Joe Arpaio Out for Two Weeks?

Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his alleged broken arm.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio's reportedly going back to, um, work after spending more than two weeks out of the public eye with a supposed broken arm.

The last time the public saw Arpaio was on February 28, the date of the purported trip and fall on a sidewalk in downtown Phoenix, in a series of videos recorded at the hospital.

That's quite the reaction for a broken arm, although crazier things have happened.

"I am angry at myself," Arpaio told the Associated Press. "When you look at everything I have been through, and I get incapacitated by a sidewalk."

Sure, it's possible, but do you think Arpaio really spent more than two weeks out of the public eye, and looked like that in the video above, due to a broken arm?

Just not feeling any sympathy....and could basically care less what happened to him.

He tripped on the sidewalk on his way to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. Come on, the conspiracy theories here are getting just a little bit thick.

Good thing he isn't allowed to carry a gun. When his fat ass crashed to the ground all those rolls of fat could have discharged a weapon.

Jaffy wasn't around so the old fart had to "stimulate" himself and his arm just couldn't take the strain.

@shadeaux14 Jaffy has vanished it seems.  I wonder if he's dressed as Florence Nightingale for the Joker!

His so called "broken arm story" is bogus, just like who he is. Had my 88 year old grandfather broke his arm. He'd be back at it in 3 days. The Flaccid Failure is just full of it per usual.

They most likely gave him oxygen as a precaution. People can get really sick just staying in the hospital for a few days. Catching pneumonia is easy. Not to mention the other nasty bugs that are wafting thru the ventilation system. It is possible that he suffered a small stroke. They wouldn't normally keep someone in the hospital for two weeks just for a broken shoulder (not a broken arm, according to him).

The only witness that had come up- which is very suspicious to begin with- said that "it seemed that the JOKE had sufered a Stroke, because He looked pale" very consistant with the signs of a stroke, not to mention the fall. Probably He gaot so scared about the Recall, that He jus couldn't take it.

Some other story I saw this morning said it was his shoulder broken in two places, which would be totally consistent with this type of immobilization. Still a pretty pathetic showing for "America's Toughest Sheriff"...

Joe Arpaio is a very, very old man. Very, very old people are susceptible to pneumonia. My guess would be he has been dealing with very, very old people pneumonia.

@Eleanor_Holguin  I've kind of leaned toward that too, Eleanor. Broken bones in the very elderly is not the same as a broken bone in anyone else.

Of course the theory of a stroke causing the fall to begin with is one I hadn't thought of.  That may well be the case. Thanks, David.

Maybe with Joke on high power painkillers he'll start making sense and really do his job.  Though he might also see spiders everywhere when he cuts back.

suddenly his testimonies in court make sense. if he cant see where he is putting his own feet when walking, well then,... not seeing what Henderschott was up to for years in an office more than a legs length away isnt too far fetched is it?..........maybe he should have had Seagal come in and train him how to walk?
