Bathroom Birther John Kavanagh Delays His Toilet-Police Bill

Shitter Sergeant John Kavanagh's toilet police badge.
Republican Representative John Kavanagh delayed a hearing on his proposal on his "bathroom birther" proposal, which would criminalize the use of a public restroom if the sex on someone's birth certificate doesn't match the sign on the door.

It just so happened that as Kavanagh tried to sneak this one in using a "strike everything" amendment, and as people noticed that the bill purposely targets the transgender community, that Kavanagh said the hearing would have to be delayed, because they didn't have the "appropriate paperwork" due to a "communication breakdown."

This happened yesterday during a hearing of the House Appropriations Committee, of which Kavanagh is the chairman. That committee deals with bills that appropriate money, so it's fairly obvious that Kavanagh's gaming the legislative system in an attempt to pass his potty-cop bill.

You better bet that the theocratic lobbying organization Center for Arizona Policy helped out Kavanagh with his amendment, as Kavanagh's proven to be a pretty reliable pawn for situations like these.

While the City of Phoenix was trying to get its new anti-discrimination ordinance passed recently, the organization tried to convince its followers that this would give an excuse for men to "gain access" to little girls in bathrooms. According to an Associated Press report, Kavanagh "said he was worried an anti-discrimination ban passed in Phoenix last month would serve as a cover for pedophiles who want to expose themselves to children of the opposite gender."

Um, would it be news to Kavanagh that it's illegal for pedophiles to expose themselves to children of any gender?

Kavanagh said yesterday that his proposal will be discussed at next week's meaning, so we'll have to wait and see if that actually happens.

Another ridiculous attempt at discrimination brought to you by the "Keep the Government Out Of My Life" party.

Probably a closeted "woman in a man's body."

It's being pulled and disguised as another bill to allow businesses to ban trans people from using their bathrooms instead.  Keep an eye on SB1045, that's where this floater is going to surface.

Kavanagh just pulled this version of the bill, since he as getting so much flack about it.

Now he plans on introducing legislation later this week to grant immunity from prosecution to business owners who deny a transgendered person access to the restroom the associate with.

So he pulls on bullshit bill, only to intend to replace it with another bullshit bill that makes it legal for a business to discriminate against a transgendered individual.....

This guy is a real piece of shit.

Mr. Kavanagh is from a dying breed of individuals; which unfortunately seem to migrate to Arizona in large numbers. Eventually this dying breed will thin out, but never be completely extinguished. I just hope they quit migrating to Arizona. I hear Florida is lovely this time of year.

This is nothing more than a deeply discriminatory, mean-spirited attack at the utterly harmless and struggling transgender population of this state.  Kavanagh is attempting to criminalize and incarcerate an entire minority group.  Where have we heard that before?  Kavanagh is a New Yorker and former NYPD cop who wants to come here and turn AZ into his vision of a police state.  This is a very evil man who should be run out of Arizona.

Kavanagh, big man in the legislature, controlling APPROPRIATIONS, is the last person who should be handling this after seeing how he wastes our taxpayers $$'s and legislative session with a stupid "toilet police" bill. Pure insanity.

Kavanagh has NO credibility and is now seen as another Arizona elected "fool".

All  this bill is and does is promote fear and discrimination of those who have valid reason to use the bathroom that specifically matches their gender identity when all they want to do is pee!  How ridiculous is this?  Good move, Kavanaugh!  Those laws regarding pedophiles are already in place.

Sheeesh!!  Things are getting really draconian in Arizona that is becoming a fascist always a need to show your papers state.

Kavanaugh created this wasteful distraction to deflect attention away from where people need to be focused.  Watch HUBRIS tonight at 6:00 on MSNBC. This should be a civic duty for all.

THE REAL STORY BEHIND THE INVASION OF IRAQ

Now an MSNBC Documentary, hosted by Rachel Maddow

Filled with news-making revelations that made it a New York Times bestseller, Hubris takes us behind the scenes at the White House, CIA, Pentagon, State Department, and Congress to show how George W. Bush came to invade Iraq - and how his administration struggled with the devastating fallout.

Hubris connects the dots between Bush's expletive-laden outbursts at Saddam Hussein, the bitter battles between the CIA and the White House, the fights within the intelligence community over Saddam's supposed weapons of mass destruction, the outing of an undercover CIA officer, and the Bush administration's misleading sales campaign for war. Written by veteran reporters Michael Isikoff andDavid Corn, this is an inside look at how a president took the nation to war using faulty and fraudulent intelligence.

It's a dramatic page-turner and an intriguing account of conspiracy, backstabbing, bureaucratic ineptitude, journalistic malfeasance, and arrogance.

Does this sound like Arizona's leaders, wasting time and money on stupid issues while lining their pockets on the backside?

Bell gets justice over abuses by City Council members - latimes.com

"CHEAT SHEET: Bell corruption verdicts

"Living well is the best revenge. In the two years since the problems were exposed, the town where too few people paid attention to local government now has an active electorate. Residents voted to recall wrongdoers on the council; illegally collected taxes were returned; voters took an avid interest in the election of new council members. An association of city managers sent in expert help to refashion municipal governance. Bell recently received recognition for, of all things, transparency about city salaries and other records. And people throughout the state learned once again that, unfortunately, good government cannot be taken for granted."

This is so ridiculous. I bet this lawmaker is for less government, too.

Babeu has given his reassurance that if this law goes into effect, he personally will monitor the men's rooms, to ensure full compliance with the law. Babeu proposes conducting hands on random "package inspection" of men using public restrooms.

Kavanagh is greatful for Babeu's ecsatic support.

Calling Kavanagh an asswipe is not fair to asswipes.

Throw these kooks the hell out of the state.

Couldn't sneak that one through, Mr. Kavanagh?  But at least it's not dead.  I'm sure comedians all over the country are very grateful.
