Arizona's the Best State for Gun Owners, Says Magazine Formerly Run by Man Who Shot and Killed Neighbor in Arizona

Arizona is "the best" state for gun owners, Guns & Ammo magazine says today.

Believe it or not, Guns & Ammo magazine omitted the fact that the former editor of the magazine shot and killed a man in Arizona less than a year ago.

-Richard Venola, Former Editor of Guns & Ammo Magazine, Arrested in Mohave County Murder

Richard Venola was arrested by Mohave County Sheriff's deputies in May, after the former Guns & Ammo editor used a gun and ammo to shoot 39-year-old James Patrick O'Neill outside Venola's home in Golden Valley.

His trial on a second-degree murder charge ended with a hung jury.

The local paper of record, the Mohave Daily News, also reported that a deputy county attorney revealed during the trial that Venola was "extremely drunk" -- with a blood-alcohol level of .23 -- while Venola's lawyers called it self-defense, naturally.

O'Neill was unarmed, but a jury couldn't decide if Venola was guilty of murder in the second trial, either.

Guns were described as Venola's "first love" in his Guns & Ammo biography, although that online biography was changed shortly after Venola's arrest.

Today, Guns & Ammo thinks Arizona's the best state for gun owners.

Arizona scored 49 out of 50 points possible in its ranking, in categories including laws related to concealed carry, modern sporting rifles, "Class 3" firearms, stand-your-ground laws, and miscellaneous -- which is related to "[h]ow pro-gun the state culture is."

While you might have guessed that they took off Arizona's point in the stand-your-ground category to throw a bone to their old boss, the state scored a 10 in that category, and a nine in the concealed-carry category.

Check out the entire list here.

Even though violence has been in a marked decline since the 1990's and a successful FBI infiltration campaign in leftist organizations in the mid-1980s, the govt. has now recategorized most violent leftist activities to be SINGLE-ISSUE GROUPS.

Single-issue Left wing extremists attack targets that embody distinct political issues like environmental degradation, abortion, genetic engineering, or animal abuse. These groups are usually composed of small, autonomous cells that are hard to infiltrate because of rigid secrecy. According to the FBI, so-called eco-terrorists and animal rights groups like the Earth Liberation Front have committed over two thousand crimes and caused losses of over $110 million since 1979. Ecological extremism (BaltimoreSun)gained particular notoriety in the 1990s, and in 2004 the FBI declared these groups the No. 1 domestic terrorism threat.

Anti-abortion extremists are responsible for seven murders, forty-one bombings, and 173 acts of arson in the U.S. and Canada since 1977, according to the National Abortion Federation, an abortion rights group. While much of this violencepeaked in the 1990s (PDF), the 2009 murder of Dr. George Tiller (NYT) served as a reminder of the threat still posed by these factions and gun control is just another "single issue leftist group" that as show above, is prone to violent attacks when they invariably snap!

It is only a matter of time before the anti gun freaks are correctly labeled as terrorists as it is their inherent nature1

http://start.umd.edu/start/publications/research_briefs/LaFree_Bersani_HotSpotsOfUSTerrorism.pdf

Of course what isnt presented is all those individual leftist attacks which the govt. now identifies as terrorism so lets see if we can find the report showing you lefties are still uber violent!

Oh wait, you go to Table #7, page 24, and it has a table identifying such rates, and geez, you leftiest single issue terrorists are still killing, in fact the govt. has failed in this report to identify such leftist leaning twits in the 364, wonder why that is since single issue terrorist attacks have seem to replaced and accounted for 40 attacks in 1990's & 47 attacks in 2000's.

One would think a person serious about knowing the truth, would ask whether those 87 were lefties or righties, want to find out?

Oh whats this, another report

LEFT-WING GROUPS: The FBI states leftist extremist groups"generally profess a revolutionary socialist doctrine and view themselves as protectors of the people against the "dehumanizing effects" of capitalism and imperialism." From 1960 to the mid-1980s, most acts of extremist violence were committed by leftist factions like the Weather Underground. A wellspring of disaffected, radical youth with ideological roots in the civil rights, women's liberation, and anti-war movements provided these groups with much of their militant fervor. This resulted in 364 violent leftist terrorist attacks vs 58 righties since 1970.

Wow, that means that lefties are 7 times inherently more violent than righties.

You should be proud of what you are, pathological lying sociopaths who want and demand violence to achieve your agenda!

More evidence of the lunacy of the left, just check this out from the Southern Poverty Law Center hate group is, as some comments observe, are in need of money.

They even designated as a terrorist organization "PUA'S" - these pick up artists who get women they meet in bars to have sex with them.  In other words, if you score at the local meat rack tonight and never call her up again, you are part of a hate group!

Of course we have the biggest hypocrites of all, the Mayors Against Legal Guns who by their criminal accomplishments are indeed more violent and criminal than 80 mil law abiding gun owners.

The blue social model is indeed at issue here. The blue model absolves the individual of moral responsibility and invests it in the group. This frees the individual from moral constraints. It’s how socialists of all types get normal people to do inhuman things. The blue social model creates a form of collective sociopathology. That is why sociopaths are attracted to socialist mass movements.

Then we have the second generation of progressives making their mark upon society in the last 5 years, all one has to do is look at and review the number of flashmob attacks and violence by good little entitlement anchors in the bastions of progressive immorality attempting to "redistribute wealth" it appears, hmmmm.

BELLEVUE, WA – Today’s arrest of Illinois State Sen. Donne Trotter by authorities at O’Hare International Airport for having a gun in his carry-on bag is a revealing look at the hypocrisy of anti-gunners, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Trotter was arrested at a security checkpoint early this morning. A candidate for the 2nd Congressional District seat vacated recently by Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr., Trotter had a .25-caliber Beretta semiautomatic pistol in his bag. The Chicago Tribune said Trotter told police he worked late last night as a security guard and didn’t realize the pistol was in his bag.

“Trotter is a South Side Democrat and he was a leader in the move to ban so-called ‘assault weapons’ during his first term as a state representative,” noted CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “A man who favored banning firearms for thousands of his fellow Illinois residents shouldn’t even have a gun, much less be packing one illegally into an airport.”

Trotter has reportedly been charged with one count of attempting to board an airplane with a weapon, which is a Class 4 felony.

“Senator Trotter, by his own action, has demonstrated the monumental hypocrisy of gun control advocates who try to disarm average citizens while reserving the right to bear arms for themselves alone,” Gottlieb observed. “He should not even be serving in the state legislature, much less be running for a seat in Congress, which already has its share of gun prohibition hypocrites.

“Today’s incident underscores just how pathetic the anti-gun philosophy has gotten,” he concluded. “Perhaps now he will realize how other citizens feel when they run afoul of some anti-gun law or regulation. He should apologize to every gun owner in Illinois.”

Past experience with gun control leaders such as Annette "Flirty" Stevens (Illinois Million Mom March president caught with drugs and a de-serialized handgun), Sheila Eccleston (Mothers Against Violence, imprisoned for possessing a sawed-off shotgun), James Kelly (Seattle Urban League anti-gunner caught brandishing a handgun during an argument), Bart Stupak (champion of mandatory federal trigger locks whose son later committed suicide with dad's unlocked gun), and Barbara Graham (DC Million Mom March activist convicted of a revenge shooting of an innocent person who HADN'T killed her son) suggests that frustrated gun control activists tend to go out with a bang rather than a whimper.

The moral is, if you ever happen to come across Dennis Henigan, and Matt Hendleys of this world take cover. You don't want to be at Ground Zero when they go postal and its not a matter of if, its a matter of when!”

Guns & Ammo's labeling of Arizona as being the the most gun-friendly state is certainly spot-on. Really, where else can you spot so many people walking around with guns strapped to their hips? It's so, so scary to see this. It's  truly frightening to know that one of these yahoos can be drunk as a skunk, pick up his piece and blast away at a completely innocent individual. But here we see that it happened, just like that. Some months ago I was in a Golden Corral. I spotted 4 young-looking men come in packin' heat. I thought of complaining to the manager, but I figured that it was probably OK by him. I don't for the life of me understand why that should be legal, here or anywhere else.

I suggest psychiatric help for your fears.  You have a bigger chance of a drunk yahoo killing you with a car instead of a gun.  Just becasue you cannot be responsible with a firearm does not mean others are like you!

@david_saint01 @azcumsquelcher @eric.nelson745 @azlefty Sadly, the recent shooters did not have any flags that could have prevented their violence.  Look at the doofus in CO...he was a brilliant guy in a doctoral program, until his brain imploded.

@azcumsquelcher @eric.nelson745 @azlefty I haven't. It's just that I get an uneasy feeling seeing these "kids" totin' gunz. The were all, as I mentioned in original post, quite young. I can't imagine that they're cops. And another thing... why are they doing this? To impress chickies, perhaps? Yeah, that must be it.

@azcumsquelcher @eric.nelson745 @azlefty AZ, dude that shit happens all the time..its just not reported as its so frequent these days...also, if you think about it, half the school shooters of late had no prior criminal history..

azcumsquelcher
azcumsquelcher

@eric.nelson745 @azlefty why? I mean, guns make loud noises and can kill people under the wrong circumstances... but so can lawnmowers, vehicles, chainsaws, power drills, industrial machinery, the list goes on and on. How many times have you seen these gun-totin' loonies actually open fire on innocent civilians? or even non-innocent civilians? Are you just as scared of knives? You're fear seems irrational because it appears you are basing it off of some ideology or perceived do-gooder sentiment you picked up somewhere. If you had an actual phobia of guns, I would genuinely sympathize with you, because I myself deal with a phobia and it's a pain in the ass. Having an aversion to guns or violence is not a phobia. I'm talking about going into an uncontrollable panic/anxiety attack when you encounter something, and I doubt that's what you deal with.
