Continuing with what Gro Bruntland has said "The World Socialist Party of the U.S. is part of a global socialist movement that believes capitalism cannot meet the need of the majority of the people in the world, however 'progressive' it might become. A major boost to the UNEnvironmental Program(of which Maurice was the founding director ) was the Earth Summit Eviromental Conferences and especially the Rio Earth Summit 1992. Agenda 21(agend for the 21st century) was written as a report for that conference as well as an over arching doctrine and guideline for change of the way the world works . The following are some quotes from various leader in this influencial agenda: Maurice Strong says, "Private property in the hand of individuals concentrates too much wealth in the hands of a few, therefore private property must be removed from the hands of individuals and put into the hands of the collective". Harvey Ruvin, a high up in ICLEI, an NGO tasked with the job of going to local principalities and garnering cooperation from local politicans by offering pre-packaged land use and planning tools paid for by lucrative Federal and private grants (what politician could resist )says, "Individual rights have to take a backseat to the collective".

Agenda 21 is explained by an approximately 300 page book printed by the UN and whose main developers are Maurice Strong and Gro Bruntland. Both of these people are avowed socialist. Maurice said at the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, "Isn't the only hope for the planet that industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't ti our responsibility to bring this about?"

Agenda 21 is real. If the people would take the time to educate themselves on this matter, I would hope that their "tin foil hat" knee jerk approach would be reversed. This UN supported take over of the United States started under the Bush #1 administration and it's a takeover plan of the US over the course of 50 years. WAKE UP people, educate yourselves and push back. If this doesn't stop, get ready for property rights and gun rights to be GONE and your very existence in question. According to the National Association of Home Builders, there were 514,200 single family home building permits issued in the U.S. in 2012 vs. 301,300 mutlifamily home ("stack and pack") buidling permits. You Birchers want to debate facts - lets debate facts. Tell me how the fact that there were 42% fewer multifamily homes than single family homes permitted in 2012 supports your argument that we are being forced to move to "stack and pack" multi-use housing units in urban centers. Those are the facts. They show that you are wrong.

Eventually there will be less single family home starts and more mixed use because they are deliberately manipulating your ability to do what you want to do on your own property. And using zoning, they "up size" the # of houses required per acre so that the small town feel, many people desire, is turned into the sardine can ghetto, we all despise. I read that Berks county in Pa. now mandates that you reapply for the zoning of your property after you buy it. Do you know that in many locales they are not grandfathering in the zoning of your property when they rezone it to some other use? So think about that for a minute. You go to sell your single family home only to find out it is now worthless because the zoning has changed and single family homes are no longer allowed. Are you starting to see the bigger picture yet?

Well, your numbers are wrong and I mean way off. The numbers you provided are on the order of monthly totals, not yearly totals. Maybe you should go to the same source the Nat. Assoc of Home Builders goes to (HUD). The closest I could come to your figures was in December of last year when 573,000 single family homes, 30,000 2-4 unit houses, and 308,000 5 unit or larger houses were built. The numbers aren’t really all that important by themselves. I won't call you a liar, but let's just say you provided misinformation as usual for someone in your position, either ignorantly or on purpose. The important part is the percentages. For instance, look at Jan 2012versus Jan 2013 permits issued.

Per the Berks County website, "How do I get a copy of a zoning or subdivision ordinance? Here in Pennsylvania, zoning and subdivision regulations are not administered by the county, but rather by individual municipalities.Though we have file copies of ordinances here in the office that you may look at, there is no guarantee that they are accurate or up-to-date.The individual municipality should be contacted for questions regarding their ordinance."

The county doesn't even enact zoning laws in Pennsylvania - individual municipalities enact zonining laws, so Berk County wouldn't even be in a position to mandate that land owners reapply for zoning following a transaction. Your entire paranoia is built on misinformation, rumors, innuendos and, ultimately, bull shit - but hey, its your bull shit so it must be OK.

We are fighting them on the ground here in the bay area. The game is on for the future of the United States. This plan is of, by, and for the largest corporations, world leaders, private foundations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). They're doing it because they can, they think. People in the United States and other so-called wealthy nations are the only thing standing in their way. They have pacified the poor by giving them money, etc, pacified the wealthy by allowing them to get richer (Bush tax cuts is an example), and the (affluent) middle class has to be brought down. We just lost about half our personal wealth with the manipulated crash of the housing market. Finally, after 20 years of stealthily pushing this agenda through, people are waking up en masse. Maurice Strong, a billionnaire and unscrupulous communist was heading up United Nations Agenda 21 at the 1992 Earth Summit said it is the affluent middle class that is unsustainable. Notice he didn't say that the wealthy billionnaires were unsustainable. Aren't they using up more resources than anyone else? They are also the owners of the largest corporations and are responsible for most of the environmental degradation that they are so alarmed about. It's a major scam against us. If Agenda 21 is so good why did they hide it from the American people for 20 years? Sorry, but this doesn't pass the smell test.

Thank God some of our legislators aren't going along with this. Gird up your loins and arm yourself with knowledge and courage as the battle for our freedoms is underway. We can stop this!

@Californian yep they are hard at work trying their best to get everyone on board with this. I have gone to meetings and to the city and they still ate selling us down the drain. I wonder just why is that? Who would do such craziness and for what I ask? It really scares me and hoping with all I have that people will see this for just what it is( spreading the wealth) and not in our best interests for sure. Heather Gass here in Northern Ca. It's just three posts down from yours so you should have no trouble finding my post with the link. I've also read significant nuetral discussions as well as conspiracy theorist prpoganda. The question is, have you actually read it or just read the far-right anti U.N. commentators like Glenn Beck and Alex Jones? I just keep asking for actual facts instead of the rumors, innuendo and misinformation but none of your compatriots seem to have any real facts - just "I read" and "I've heard" and "the law is" but no one really provides any actual facts. The John Birch Society has been a staunch opponent of the U.N since its founding in 1958 and even tried and trued conservatives have referred to JBS as a fringe group. JBS has hated everything, and I mean everything, that the U.N. has ever done and everything that the U.N. stands for. JBS has been the leader in the misinformation and lies spread about UNCED. In fact, JBS virtually created the term "Agenda 21" to try and make the whole thing sound nefarious. If you, Californian and the others who have chosen to chime in on this topic are getting all your info from JBS or from Glenn Beck's book that was published last year, you are getting your info from very narrow sources with very strong agendas and that is an issue. And if that is the case, stop hiding and tell us that so we can fully evaluate your "factual" claims.

Agenda 21 is a bi product of the United Nations. The United States gives money to the United Nations, which distributes our tax dollars to this group that is gaining a stranglehold on our nation. They start locally through State, County and Local City government. They often work through ICLEI. This is a division that encourages our cities to join so that they can get information on how to run a city in a sustainable way. City members give their successes. Their successes usually mean that we have given up our freedoms all in the name of "sustainability, smart growth, the environment", etc.

One of the goals of Agenda 21 is to lower the personal net worth of every American. It takes control of our water systems, it controls our food supply, it controls our housing, where we live, it has a goal to turn the world into vegetarians by 2050, it controls our transportation, our gun ownership, and gives final say on all issues to this governing body.

This woman in gutsy. She needs to have each of you in Arizona educate yourself and one other. In California, we are working at a very quick rate to put in place most of the desires of Agenda 21.

Agenda 21 is more a world leveling plan, and one where there is world control of all activity. I put it much worse than communism.

The person that wrote this article is highly naive.

These people believe Glen Beck's book Agenda 21 is brilliant analysis of the conspiracy to force everyone to live in high rises in cities, forcing them to become latte drinking, gay agenda supporting, street car riding, bicycle riding, art lovers---I guess? Somehow the voluntary Agenda 21 is going to take our RVs, SUV's, and huge pickup truck away, along with our guns, our one acre ranchettes, our Coors Light, and our AmerIcan way of life, using Black helicopter to force us into the left coast concentration camps. Can't argue with that logic.

Agenda 21 is horrible! Just horrible! See, it's goals are to reduce international poverty and starvation, improve the living conditions of people all around the world, reduce the ongoing deforetation of our planet, develop appropriate disposal solutions for the all the waste we create, and using our natural resources more efficiently. Those assholes want us to reduce, reuse and recycle. Can't you see just how horrible that is! Poor people in Africa, Asia and South America having enough to eat - an abomination. Especially in a totally voluntary program that is not a treaty and does not carry the force of law. It even promotes horrendous issues like....free trade and the elimination of protectionism. It even argues for smaller government with goals like "Remove the barriers to progress caused by bureaucratic inefficiencies, administrative strains, unnecessary controls and the neglect of market conditions." Is it the same UN that established the land policy of the United Nations officially articulated at the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat I), held in Vancouver, May 31 - June 11, 1976. The UN stated the following "Land...cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth and therefore contributes to social injustice; if unchecked, it may become a major obstacle in the planning and implementation of development schemes. Public control of land use is therefore indispensable...." They further went on to say “All countries should establish as a matter of urgency a national policy on human settlements, embodying the distribution of population...over the national territory. Such a policy should be devised to facilitate population redistribution to accord with the availability of resources. Governments must maintain full jurisdiction and exercise complete sovereignty over such land with a view to freely planning development of human settlements....”

They went on to state: “Such control may be exercised through:

(i) Zoning and land-use planning as a basic instrument of land policy in general and of control of land-use changes in particular;

(ii) Direct intervention, e.g. the creation of land reserves and land banks, purchase, compensated expropriation and/or pre-emption, acquisition of development rights, conditioned leasing of public and communal land, formation of public and mixed development enterprises;

(iii) Legal controls, e.g. compulsory registration, changes in administrative boundaries, development building and local permits, assembly and replotting. “

Is this the same UN that sponsored and issued several policies at the 1992 Earth Summit, one of which was the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). Compliance with this UN policy is being driven and managed by the Wildlands Network which shares the same goals as the CBD; to set aside half the land in America for animals as mentioned in their "Global Biodiversity Assessment" as a possible approach to preserving biological diversity. (See Section 13.4.2.2.3, page 993, "Global Biodiversity Assessment", Cambridge University Press, 1995). Of course you know that the Wildlands network was founded by none other than Dave Forman, Co-founder of Earth First (basically animals before humans) who said,

“We must reclaim the roads and plowed land, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of acres of presently settled land.” “My three main goals would be to……Reduce human population to about 100 million world-wide, Destroy the industrial infrastructure, And see wilderness, with its full complement of species returning throughout the world.”

In case you are having problems analyzing what that means, presently settled in your out of town home. Well it doesn’t make any difference anyway because you’re probably living in the animal corridor which is part of “Spine of the Continent Initiative”, so they will just take your home by eminent domain one day.

The essential objective would be to simplify or remove the restrictions, regulations and formalities that make it more complicated, costly and time-consuming to set up and operate enterprises in many developing countries." Don't be fooled - encouraging people to be entrepreneurs and to start their own businesses is just one more step down the slippery slope of a complete take over of the U.S. by the U.N. and its minions.

In New Jersey, the Governor is attempting to pass Agenda21 by executive order. Due to policies such as this and a Foreclosure Act, two-thirds of the people moving in or out of New Jersey are moving OUT. We have had socialism for decades and it has resulted in the highest taxes in the country.

Is it just me, or does Wes Harris sound vaguely like paranoid schizophrenic Jared Loughner when he says that "sustainability" is a made up word "coined to make 'it' sound nice"? Jared Loughner (which could be argued was a right-wing conspiracy theorist) believed that the government was using "language and grammar control" to brainwash the masses.

Have you ever heard of the term Political Correctness? Have you ever wondered where it came from? Probably not.

It came from a think tank by the name of Institute for Social Research in Frankfurt, Germany, which was founded in 1923. It later came to be known as the “Frankfurt School”. It was founded with the sole charter of finding a solution to a problem that Russia was having at the time. The question the Russian implementers were struggling with was,

“Why wasn’t Communism spreading?”

And not so obvious was the answer.

“Because, Western Civilization was in its way”

Why was this answer so surprising to the Russians, let’s call the spade black, Communists? Because they believe at their foundation was the theory that all valid ideas come from the effect of the social group of the masses. The individual is nothing. Whereas, Western Civilization believes in Democracy. The concept that all men are created equal; individuals that could develop valid ideas without the governments help.

The solution for them was obvious. To make room for Communism they had to help (or force) Western Civilization to destroy itself, but chipping away at the very foundations that made this a great place to come to, our inalienable rights under the constitution.

One of the things to chip away at is our speech and thought patterns. We shouldn’t voice our beliefs, because it might be disrespectful to others.It was given a name, “Political Correctness”.

Mao was so inspired by this that he wrote an article on the correct handling of contradictions between people. He called it “Sensitive training”. Sound familiar? Speech codes were born.

In 1935, after Hitler came to power, the members of the Frankfurt School fled to the US. The migrated to the major US universities (Columbia, our president’s supposed alma mater, Princeton, Brandeis, and in 1941, they moved to California to spread their wings at Berkeley), where they continued their work by translating Marxism from economic to cultural terms using Sigmund Freud's psychological conditioning mechanisms to get Americans to buy into Political Correctness.

In 1959 we saw what happened in Cuba when Fidel Castro came to power. Mr., Mrs. and Miss were no longer acceptable, and their further use could reveal that you were not a Fidelista. under the pervasive guidance of Political Correctness that took hold from elementary school to university, from the media to the arts, from the country fields to factories and offices, Cubans learned to say what it was safe to say. The self-censorship resulting from Political Correctness easily trampled freedom of speech. Political Correctness has succeeded in Cuba by creating a uniform political discourse that has lasted for 43 years.

To further the advance of their ‘quiet’ cultural revolution - but giving us no ideas about their plans for the future - the School recommended (among other things):

The creation of racism offences, Continual change to create confusion, The teaching of sex and homosexuality to children, The undermining of schools’ and teachers’ authority, Huge immigration to destroy identity, The promotion of excessive drinking, Emptying of churches, An unreliable legal system with bias against victims of crime, Dependency on the state or state benefits, Control and dumbing down of media, and Encouraging the breakdown of the family. Any of that not happening in America now?

Munzenberg summed up the Frankfurt School’s long-term operation thusly: ‘We will make the West so corrupt that it stinks.'

The School believed there were two types of revolution: (a) political and (b) cultural. Cultural revolution demolishes from within. ‘Modern forms of subjection are marked by mildness’. They saw it as a long-term project and kept their sights clearly focused on the family, education, media, sex and popular culture. We are seeing the fruits of it now, or at least some of us are.

@squash It's not just you. I wasn't there. But I suspected Harris was. I did have the "pleasure" of having listened to his ramblings on several occasions during Independent Redistricting hearings. He's definitely "out there."
