James Miletta's day was upgraded to "shitty" after his stop at Burger King.
A 74-year-old Gilbert man moseyed into a Burger King yesterday afternoon, and told the cashier that he was just having a bad day.

That man, James Richard Miletta, then proceeded to pull out a handgun and demand the money from the register, according to Gilbert police.

According to information provided by Gilbert police, the cashier at the store -- at Warner and Val Vista -- gave up an undisclosed amount of cash, before Miletta left in his Chevy sedan.

Police say it took about five minutes to find Miletta, who'd made it to Elliot and Val Vista.

Miletta confessed, and police took the cash and the handgun, according to police.

Miletta's bond was set at $48,000, and police note that no one was injured throughout the incident.

Where is Jaffy when needed, Jaffy should've been there to tell him:"If You rob us You are going to get cancer and die", since he is the "Cancer fairy".

Another desparate old guy at the end of his rope who couldn't think of any other options other than this.  Thank goodness he didn't choose to shoot someone like the old guy who shot Singer and Hummels two weeks ago, but this could have easily been a replay of that incident.  Despair and desparation are horrible things and we are going to see more and more of it among our senior population.  I wish I had an answer, but I don't, but as a community we're going to need to find a way to address it.

@MandyMountain When many seniors are forced on a monthly basis to choose between paying rent, buying groceries or purchasing their medication...............

@JohnQ.Public Okay, I'll admit it. These violent old Republicans may be harmless without their guns. But they are extremely dangerous when armed. For them it's all or nothing. These old extremists got nothing to lose and they could very well end it all in a blaze of glory. And that's what frightening. This is why I'm always wary around older white gents in public places than a pesky gangbanger type with a bandanna on his head.

@Lone_Wolf @JohnQ.Public When you once had the most and you now have the least it does tend to create extreme cognitive dissonance although you might care to be equally wary around my old Mexican husband who also has experienced extreme loss and I am very proud of his militance on behalf of whitehairs everywhere regardless of their skin color.  He is one old guy you don't want to tangle with.

@JohnQ.Public @sarum @Lone_Wolf Wow.  Voice Nation is really broken . . . or rigged.  I have tried to respond to JQP's mischaracterization twice and it never posts.  What's up with that PNT?  Is JQP one of your trolls?

@JohnQ.Public @sarum @Lone_Wolf No I did not.  What is going on with your mental stability that you need to mischaracterize (lie) about a really good man who defends the defenseless and I promise you, when you get white hairs you will wish you had someone like my husband standing by you because he understands what is morally  indefensible.  To equate him with a murderer is just picking a fight because your emo stability needs it or your agendae needs it.  I was starting to appreciate some of what you write here but you just made yourself a POS turd.

@sarum @Lone_Wolf @JohnQ.Public Great - youv'e described one more person on the verge of going off the deep end and causing harm to himself and others.  Instead of celebrating that "he is one old guy you don't want to tangle with" maybe you should make sure that he remains mentally stable and balanced and is not about to pull out a handgun at a stoplight because he thinks some young punk has cut him off in traffic.  Just saying that you've described the personality profile of Art Harmon who killed two and injured one just two weeks ago and maybe that should give you cause for concern, not celebration.

@Lone_Wolf I don't think it's a Republican, Democrat, liberal or conservative issue.
