The pro-gun-control organization headed up by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, released a video ad featuring a plea from Giffords for Congress to act on gun-control proposals.

Giffords and Kelly announced the formation of Americans for Responsible Solutions last month, and announced their intentions to get Congress to pass some gun-control measures, as well as directly combat the NRA.

Now, the first ad is narrated by Giffords, who was shot in the head in the 2011 Tucson shooting in which six people were killed.

"We have a problem, where we shop, where we pray, where our children go to school, but there are solutions we can agree on -- even gun owners like us," Giffords says. "Take it from me, Congress must act. Let's get this done."

The "solutions" proposed by Giffords' and Kelly's organization are criminal background checks, limiting high-capacity magazines, limiting assault weapons, and stopping gun trafficking.

More details on their proposals can be found here.

She was in congress when Va. Tech., Binghampton Ny., and the Cross roads mall In Omaha killings happened. That was more than 45 people killed. She sure was not hell bent on gun control then. peace

@truthseekeraz @jonnyquest Read about this scandal. At best, it was GROSS INCOMPETENCE that allowed a huge number of guns to get into the hands of drug cartels. At worst, it was a politically motivated effort to further a gun control agenda. Whatever the cause, the result was the death untold innocents. AND NO ONE IS BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE!

@truthseekeraz @jonnyquest The guns were sold by Federally licensed dealers. The buyers were backround checked. The dealers tried to warn the ATF that straw purchases were being done by specific people. ATF ordered that the sales be allowed, that it was important to the investigation.
