Essentially, yes, it should be placed on ballot again and should not pass. Voters don't understand what they are voting for because they do not research the propostions and who is behind them. Stop taxation without representation. Stop helping the rich get richer while the poor remain imprisoned. Do not support George Soros or corporations like RJ Reynolds.

Follow the $$$.... I'll bet you $1000 that HE (Kavanagh) is either involved with with "Industrial Prison Complex", or he KNOWS someone VERY WELL in that industry that will PROFIT off of keeping marijuana illegal.

If seeing the Teen use of marijuana DROP overall in grades 8-12 was "...the last straw.". What was the FIRST straw? I'm tired of all these OLD ESTABLISHMENT Politicians and there want of CONTROL OVER MY LIFE! Medical Marijuana is NOT a Law & Order issue, it's a Health & Human Rights/FREEDOM issue! When did our Government get the RIGHT to tell me what I can and can't put into MY body? This is THE EXACT same thing as Alcohol... they came to realize they have NO right to prohibit ADULTS from doing ANYTHING! I can see if they prohibit Heroin or Methamphetamines basically any and ALL SYNTHETIC drugs... People DIE from their use. But NO ONE IN HISTORY of MANKIND has EVER died from marijuana USE specifically! In fact, up until 1937, and until the decision of Harry Anslinger (1st head of DEA) that, "...marijuana made WHITE women want to sleep with BLACK men.." Marijuana was considered Medicinal for the previous 5000 years. It's just been the past 70 yrs. that marijuana was "PROHIBITED" in the US, and the BRAIN-WASHING commenced on how BAD it is for you. ALL DONE in order to make a few MILLIONAIRES (in the 1930's) even wealthier, by OUTLAWING even "Industrial Hemp". But that's another story all together!

The AZ Constitution was changed when MMJ was passed the first time (of three) by the voters, when the clowns in the legislature refused to follow the will of the people. Why do clowns like Kavanagh hate the will of the people and state's rights so much?

@whoapardner @WhoKnows It's not ALL Republicans, so please don't lump us all into the same group. Some Republicans like myself, voted FOR this law 3 times now. Don't be so disillusioned about the GOP. There's JUST as many Democrats in the Legislature that want to get rid of the Medical Marijuana law as Republicans. It's just the Republicans are more vocal about their opposition than Democrats are. But the numbers of Dems that want to rid the state of Medical marijuana. Please don't be so disillusioned!

@MandyMountain There's no way this is a Partisan issue. Republicans just speak of "moral issues" more so than do the Dems. But there's SEVERAL roads that lead to the same point! IYKWIM?

I work with the party and when we have meetings, I'm the GREEN - Elephant in the middle of the room telling them that the GOP is on the WRONG SIDE of this issue! That if they'd look at all the GOOD it's done. To LOOK AT ME... NONE of em thought that I'd EVER be a patient! If they'd approach this issue LIKE a Conservative should, we wouldn't be having this conversation. I tell them that when it comes to this issue, they act exactly like the DEMOCRATS who brought us this colossal FAILURE in policy . They don't know how to take me, but District chair said she LOVES to watch me make the Old Guard squirm...

@jetdoc1 You make an interesting point. As one of the many involved with the passage of the AzMMA I reminded my cohorts on several occasions that this is not really a partisan issue. We get support and flack from both sides of the aisle. I recall though, that drug prohibition, like alcohol prohibition, originated as a liberal movement during the first "progressive era" a century ago. Prohibition at its core is really a liberal social engineering project, though badly thought out.

@WhoKnows . Some things they don't dare put back on the ballot. The IRC for instance. But the trouble with conservatives is they mouth their love of the Constitution and people power until the people don't agree with their ideas. Then it's, "they did not get the right information", or the people will believe our bullshit if we just get more people to listen to our message. You all spent millions in 2012, unless you beat people over the head this is a flat loser, there Johnboy.

These people are disgusting. He is basically saying we are a bunch of idiots and didn't have a clue what we were voting on. Mr. Kavanaugh, we do know what we voted for, and we chose MMJ over the miriad of pharmaceuticals pushed upon us by well meaning physicians.

Responsible adults know that we have to keep ALL medicine out of the reach of children, just like I'm sure you keep your medicine cabinet locked to your grandchildren. Teens are more likely to abuse opiates more than MMJ and they can get it from any of their schoolmates.

I suggest if you are truly interested in protecting our youth, spend more money on keeping the street drug dealers and pedophiles away from the churches, schools, and playgrounds. Stop wasting taxpayer money!

if we are going to keep re-submitting laws until we get the vote we want, then we should be able to keep holding elections till we get what we want too. that means we would keep voting till Arpaio and Brewer are not elected, there would also be non-stop elections for the president or other elected officials. i dont like Arpaio, but he got the votes to keep his job, i didnt vote Obama, but he got his votes too. voting isnt supposed to be about one persons likes or dislikes, its about the majority. the majority said yes to MMJ just as they did to Arpaio, Brewer and Obama........accept it Kavanagh and move on. i wanted Romney, and i wanted Penzone, i didnt get what i wanted but i am accepting what the majority chose

@danzigsdaddy They did the SAME THING with MLK day here in AZ. It was voted DOWN 5 times, before being passed because people were just TIRED of seeing it on the ballot as well as the fact that they'd become VERY apathetic about the issue. This is definitely a strategy in getting unpopular bills PASSED in Arizona! Bring it up EVERY election and WEAR EM DOWN! Medical Marijuana's been voted on THREE TIMES now and it's won EVERY time! The first 2 times it was voted on, it wasn't even a CONTEST! It was like 64% of the people voted FOR an MMJ program here. It was passed by 4400 votes this LAST time, after the "ESTABLISHMENT" poured in ALL KINDS OF $$$ trying to defeat it. So that gives them HOPE that with MORE $$$ they can overturn it. But after Colorado and Washington as well as fights around the country... NOW we've got POWER and we're VERY ORGANIZED, so bring it on! What an INSULT to Voters trying to say that they were BAMBOOZLED and didn't know what they were voting on when they PASSED the law. That's THE BIGGEST INSULT I've ever had thrown at me as a voter! We DIDN'T know what we were ACTUALLY doing? The Voters didn't REALIZE that there would actually be YOUNG ADULTS who are patients that may happen to ride their "Skateboard" to the dispensary. They see that ONE TIME, and all of a sudden the voters were DUPED? They don't even know the guy's AILMENT! They just ASSUME that he's FAKING it because he's got a Skateboard and Long hair and therefore the law MUST BE OVERTURNED! Dude could have AIDS for all they know, but they blow it out of proportion and all of a sudden the guys LYING and the law's a SHAM? Talk about judging a book by it's cover?

Marijuana use amongst TEENS in AZ actually DROPPED since the inception of our MMJ Law. But the Republic extrapolated numbers that would enhance their argument... however STUPID that argument may be. The study they're citing, stated that 11% (1 out of every 9) of the kids who admitted smoking marijuana in (grades 8-10, 10-12 and then 8-12) STATED that they got the marijuana from a cardholder. What that tells ME is... if (1 of every 9) got it from a Cardholder, that means 8 out of those 9 students got it from an entity involving a CRIMINAL ELEMENT! Now WHERE'S the REAL problem with these numbers they're touting to overturn our MMJ law? It's those 8 out of every 9 students who got it from the STREETS is where the $$$ from the "War on Drugs" should focus their operations. They need to LEAVE sick people alone and go after those "SMUGGLING Marijuana" across the border, that's what's making the Cartels STRONGER and WEALTHIER. The RAW numbers of kids we're talking about when it's ALL said and done here is <260 kids out of 63,000

What WASN'T cited was... If they STOLE it from a Cardholder or Politely ASKED a Cardholder for it? There's a HUGE difference, and we ALL know that when we were kids we'd RAID our parents LIQUOR cabinet while Mom and Dad were gone! They didn't close the Liquor Store where he got if from... Safeway still sells Liquor... THAT type of action wasn't even considered! Why is it being considered when the study actually cites the OPPOSITE of what they're saying it does. This is the SAME DAMNED THING!

Using their logic... means that 100% of the kids that have taken Prescription R/x or Opioids in the last 30 days got it from their Parents Medicine Cabinet or from someone who got it LEGALLY from a Doctor! What's our recourse? Are we going to CLOSE Walgreens, CVS, etc...? It just ASTOUNDS me how "Knee-jerk", this reaction to the "Skater Dude" standing in line to get his medicine outside the dispensary. Laurie Roberts even got the opportunity to LIE TO ALL OF US and state that "... she was all ready to go along with this Medical Marijuana thing..." Then she saw the picture of the Skateboard toting dude and all of a sudden, the WHOLE LAW'S a SHAM? Get real Laurie... tell us the TRUTH! You NEVER had any intention of "...going along with this Medical Marijuana thing." You're a writer for Gannett and they HAVEN'T backed a Medical Marijuana program ANYWHERE across the Country as far as I'm aware!
