Rachel Alexander, Disgraced Arizona Lawyer, Reduced to Begging for Cash to Save Cat

Help! I've been railroaded by corrupt politicians and now I can't pay for my cat's surgery!

Rachel Alexander, the disgraced lawyer and blogger who helped former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas in his unethical attacks against county leaders, has been reduced to begging for cash to help her cat.

She's built a website for the 6-year-old cat, Buckley, and claims to be near a $1,750 goal to fund surgery on his pancreas.

Alexander's financial troubles are just one more example of how far some formerly mighty Arizonans have fallen. Alexander's former co-worker, the now-disbarred Lisa Aubuchon and her buddy David Hendershott, former chief deputy under Sheriff Joe Arpaio, have been ordered to pay a six-digit sanction for filing a frivolous lawsuit against their county nemeses. Thomas, also disbarred, has announced possible plans to run for governor -- even though his chance of being elected is likely lower than that of Cary Dolego.

The Sonoran Alliance conservative blog considers Alexander's plea for help a top story.

True to form, Alexander, who fled moved to Seattle over the summer, is still not taking any responsibility for her bad behavior.

The "Save Buckley" website states: "His owner Rachel cannot afford the surgery due to being attacked the last few years for being a conservative blogger, which has crippled her finances."

Alexander's notion that her problems are due to being attacked "for being a conservative blogger" are false. The facts in a lengthy disciplinary trial targeting her, Aubuchon and Thomas show that Alexander acted unethically by filing a bogus racketeering complaint against county officials, judges and others. The disciplinary panel also found that Alexander had acted incompetently. From the panel's final report:

Ms. Alexander added further evidence of her incompetency by stating at the conclusion of her response to the dismissal motions:

"As a final alternative, and in the event plaintiffs cannot
proceed at all with this Complaint, plaintiffs seek guidance
from this Court as to how federal law may be changed to
permit local law-enforcement officials to challenge the
complained-of conduct in federal court, so that plaintiffs
may petition Congress to amend federal law
accordingly."

Anyone with a modicum of legal training knows that a court will not advise a party
on how to seek changes in the law from Congress or any legislative body.

Poor Buckley. If he's lucky, Alexander will find enough change in her cup from her cyber-begging, and he'll get his surgery.

But if his owner had been more responsible, she'd likely still be a lawyer in Arizona and easily able to handle his hospital bills.

Folks, there is something you need to know. This is a nonstory. Ray Stern is trying to create a story, because he has a relative or friend at the Arizona Supreme Court feeding him information. I work at the Arizona Supreme Court. Stern knows someone there who is buddies with Judge William O'Neil, the disciplinary judge who is attempting to suspend Rachel Alexander's license, and who suspended Andrew Thomas's bar license and his deputy Lisa Aubuchon. Stern is unethically helping Judge O'Neil smear Alexander and the others with these articles about nothing. If O'Neil can portray the three as unethical, he thinks his decisions against them won't be overturned. O'Neil is a crook and his scuzziness is about to be blasted far and wide Read this affidavit by a former close friend of his who is now a whistleblower: http://www.scribd.com/doc/95107855/Mark-Dixon-Affidavit-4-24-12

Uh, why is this even a story? She was a low-level employee caught up in a political battle. She doesn't even live in the state anymore. Your numerous articles trashing her reputation aren't working, she raised $1750 from 51 people and saved her cat. Do you enjoy being cruel and destroying people's lives?

She should just change the name of her blog of BS to "IncompetentClown.com"

SATURDAY, JANUARY 13, 2007

Prosecutor tries to force teenage boy to register as sex offender for showing Playboy magazine to a friend.
ABC News tells the horrifying story of the legal assault on the life of 16-year-old Matthew Bandy.

He is described as a pretty typical 16-year-old who never got into trouble -- well maybe not so typical after all. Maybe above average.

Police burst into the Bandy home accusing the boy of possessing child pornography. If found guilty he could have been sentenced to prison for life! Each image in one’s possession could lead to 10 years in prison consecutively. In most Western countries owning 10 images are considered one offense but in the U.S. it is 10 separate crimes.

Matthew’s mother, Jeannie, says when the police first attacked the house she thought “someone’s trying to break in our house. And then there were police officers with guns pointed at me, telling me to get downstairs.” This is exactly how innocent people, and not so innocent cops, get killed.

We have made this point repeatedly. The police are not going out to arrest people anymore. They are acting like an invading military force. They don’t announced who they are. Jeanne Bandy didn’t know. She thought they were burglars breaking in. In other words she never heard them identify themselves. They could have been rapists or killers (that wouldn’t have been far off the mark unfortunately). And if she did what any sane person would do -- defend herself she or a police officer, or both, could have ended up dead.

Maricopa district attorney Andrew Thomas, who was behind this arrest, gave evasive answers as to why the police broke into the house at 6 am with guns drawn. He said it was a police action and his office “wouldn’t have had control over that” and that “I frankly don’t know the exact facts...”

The police insisted that the boy had downloaded erotic images of minors. He said he hadn’t. Like many other adolescents he admitted he had viewed some adult porn.

Police walked off with the family computer. Police claimed that nine images were found and each image meant a 10 year prison sentence for the boy. They say it was to stop pedophilia yet there is no indication the boy was a pedophile. In fact by a clinical definition, and pedophilia is a clinical term, the boy wouldn’t qualify as a pedophile at all.

Matthew was placed under home arrest and forced to wear a monitor so the government could pinpoint his location 24 hours a day. He told ABC: “It was terrifying. I didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t know why it was happening.”

He found it difficult to go to school. He was under severe stress. It was only fortitude that kept him alive as many people placed in this situation just end their own lives due to the trauma. ABC reports: “Matt’s dreams had been destroyed and his mother was crushed. And even though there was no proof that Matthew personally downloaded those nine pictures, it would be difficult to prove his innocence. Novak said that the pictures alone were practically all the evidence the police needed.”

The entire case that would send the young boy to prison for life was built on the claim that he had accessed a Yahoo account and the account supposedly contained child porn. Grand Inquisitor Thomas said that there was evidence “linking that computer to a yahoo web site “ and that the his office got search warrants: “And uh, they in and uh, conducted that, uh, uh...that investigation.” Articulate bastard isn’t he? They couldn't win in court so they smear a teen in the press. The Matt Bandy case returns.
"I have posted extensively on the attack by the Maricopa County Attorney’s office on teenager Matt Bandy. You can read our posts here, here and here. If you know nothing about the case you will need to read these before this makes sense.

Our report was picked up by Wendy McElroy on Foxnews.com. She ran a very critical article on the case of her own. ABC News ran some very critical material including a rambling interview with Country Attorney Andrew Thomas where he bumbled his way through with nary a coherent sentence. All the bad publicity is hurting his political ambitions so out comes one of his lackeys to defend his reputation.

Rachel Alexander is the deputy county attorney In Maricopa, which is basically Phoenix, Arizona. That means she works for Thomas, who is basing his political ambitions on a reputation of being a hard ass. Well, he’s half right at least!

Alexander has written a long, deceitful attack on those who question the actions of Thomas and his department (her department too). This is no longer a legal matter. The case is over and Thomas didn’t get what he wanted. Matt Bandy is not in jail. Matt Bandy is not a registered sex offender. Thomas lost! He got a token admission that the boy showed a copy of Playboy to some friends. Stop the world! That’s worse than the ovens of Auschwitz!

Since this is not a legal case anymore, what is Ms. Alexander doing here? She is not doing the work she is paid to do. She is doing Public Relations work for Mr. Thomas -- again." (excerpt)

Taxpayer funds being spent to track this website.

In a previous post I noted how Rachel Alexander was doing PR work for her boss, Maricopa County A by writing a deceptive article on FoxNews that smeared a victim of their overzealous prosecution, Matt Bandy.

The purpose of the County Attorney is to handle county legal business and I wondered if Ms. Alexander was conducting her PR campaign for her boss Andrew Thomas while on the payroll of the taxpayers. You would think that would be a big “no-no” for staunch conservatives like themselves. Surely no one one in the Maricopa County Attorney’s office would be checking out and/or responding to web articles while they were supposed to be doing legal work.

Or would they? That still remains to be seen. But I can tell you that we got several visitors from some office of the Maricopa County government on the web site today. And today is a work day for them and it was during work hours and it was from county computers. And quite honestly, since this is an opinion blog I can’t conceive of any legitimate county business that would require anyone from the Maricopa County government to be coming to this web site during work hours using work computers.

Absent any legitimate work related reason for being here then what would bring out a slew of visits from Maricopa County employees during work hours? Could it be that they do conduct a PR campaign for their boss during work hours instead of conducting the legal business of the county. Mr. Thomas presents himself as tough on crime. Well, I would hope he is out prosecuting real criminals (a change of pace for him) instead of checking out what sort of publicity he is getting. And I would hope this goes for his employees as well.

Now you might be skeptical about whether or not Maricopa County employees are using their work computers to check up on this blog during the business day. So I made sure I collected some proof. At any one time of the day I can see some basic information as to who is visiting. I don’t get names but I know what city they are from and if their computer is registered to an organization, like the Maricopa County government, that shows up as well. It is a little tough to narrow it down to a specific department or user however.

But here are some pdf images of the information we get when we check out a specific reader of the blog. Now I can only check the most recent 100 visitors at a time and the data constantly refreshes. So I might have missed a visitor using his work time to browse the blog. But here are four different visits today from employees of Maricopa County using county computers. And since the only people we’ve discussed are in the County Attorney’s office I wonder if they aren’t spending their time checking up on what is being said about themselves instead of working. And since there are at least three different browser combinations here we aren’t talking about just one visitor. There were at least three employees from Maricopa County shirking their duties to check up on us.

Anyone want to bet which office? One clue might be that each of this visitors accessed pages with stories about Andrew Thomas, Rachel Alexander the prosecution of Matt Bandy by the County Attorney’s office. No doubt it was it someone in animal control. Don’t you think?

Clarification: Our blog time is not set to US times so don't assume these people were working in the evenings at the office. This would be the middle of the afternoon Phoenix time.

UPDATE: It really must be a slow day in Maricopa County. Two more visits since I posted the blog. Good to know there are no criminals to worry about in Phoenix. The visits from Maricopa Country paid officials continues rather regularly. I won't post each visit here but I do take a photo of the record for our files.

@PeterArizona, self-destructing itself daily in the broken criminal justice system. What goes around, comes around.

Their malicious prosecutions, incompetent prosecutions have been silenced for decades behind bars.

Its time to investigate their over 200,000 felony cases of the "ordinary" people who were not covered in the disciplinary hearings. If they dared to falsely accuse judges, lawyers,  officials, staff members, executives of newspapers, then what did they do under the color of law to "ordinary" people? How many were innocent and sitting in prison today? This demands investigation.

Ray Stern, Keep this story alive.  Peter is trying to intimidate and silence you.

@Peter  You are defaming the Judge. We heard the weeks and months of daily hearings on the AZ Supreme Court disciplinary website. They speak volumes and should be a required course by all law schools, criminal justice schools, public and social policy schools and the legislators should watch them as well. They were not fit to be top prosecutors / DCA's. Period. They intimidated the judges and justice system and Rachel deserved to be disbarred as well. One only has to see her internet blogging for "internet-convictions" that went global. These are there for all posterity, not much different than child porn that sends people in Arizona to prison for life or 200 years (Berger).  The prosecutors "control" the courtroom where draconian mandatory minimum sentencing reform is used as their "easy weapon" to get plea bargains and "easy" convictions. She promoted Thomas "hand em in the town square" philosophy. They don't like receiving what they dished out daily (over 200,000 felony convictions in one term in office). Truly shameful.

@George  In Arizona, when a killing takes place and the other person who may have been with the person -- who was not on the scene, nor held the gun and could have been a block away, etc. -- gets sent to prison for decades even though they had nothing to do with the unexpected killing and had no weapons on them.

@GeorgeShe should have been disbarred, along with Thomas and Lisa Aubuchon who have forever altered Arizona's justice system unless those whose cases (over 200,000 felony cases) are re-opened and the 'wrongs are righted". MCAO seems to have swept this under the rug. If that is not resolved then what Thomas / Aubuchon / Alexander did will continue, just under a different MCA and their enablers. Notice NONE of the politicians dare to mention the broken criminal justice system?

The Grand Inquisitor and his Bitch

"I am starting to suspect that Rachel Alexander is just a big suck-up. Maybe she is as ambitious as her boss, the Grand Inquisitor, Andrew Thomas.

Ludwig von Mises once noted that in bureaucracy the way to advance is to suck up to the “old men” at the top. That’s how he put it. Basically in politics the only performance that counts is making happy the people who can promote you. That usually means sucking up to them big time.

We have seen Rachel’s bimbo-esque distortion of the Bandy case. She played fast and loose with the truth. I guess that is part of the “biblical” morality she lauds so publicly.

The far Right MichNews.com site loves Rachel. And like so many intellectual conservatives, or what passes for them these days, they know what traits of Rachel’s to promote. “If you are obsessed with blondeness, and sure that it’s the blonder the better, of course you’ll prefer Ann Coulter [I’m only quoting this guy so don’t blame me. Grab an air sickness bag and keep reading.] Otherwise, it’s Rachel Alexander, hands down (or up).” (excerpt)

@prettysad Indeed, Rachel Alexander is a "sick animal". She deserved the "rule of law's" punishment bestowed on her per her corrupt misdeeds of "attacking" innocent people. Had she not been a part of "the axis of evil" with then Candy-boy's MCAO and the MCSO, none of this would have happened to her.
