Mohave Valley Girl, 12, Points Gun at Allegedly Abusive Father to Help Mom Escape
According to information provided by the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, 34-year-old Gregory Correa ended up punching the 12-year-old girl, but his wife was able to escape the house and scream for help.
Correa's wife told deputies that she was arguing with her husband in their bedroom Sunday afternoon, and Correa started to kick her.
That's when their 12-year-old daughter grabbed a gun out of a dresser in the room, pointed at her father, and told him to stop, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The girl's mom ran outside, and started screaming for help. Not long after that, Correa came outside with the gun in one hand, and used the other hand to try to cover his wife's mouth, according to the Sheriff's Office. He eventually let her go, and she kept screaming.
The 12-year-old girl would later tell deputies that her father tried to wrestle the gun away from her, and eventually got it back when he punched her, the Sheriff's Office says.
